~3rd person POV~
(Wow a new POV lmao)
~6 years later~
His heart was racing as the 20 year old boy got all dressed up for the love of his life. 6 years ago on this day, a tragic accident happened to the both of them, that could of costed his lovers life, all because a few members of their gang weren't very accepting. But, they learned to accept it as time went on. 6 years ago on this day, was the day he slid a promise ring onto his finger, and promised him the world and more. He promised to never leave him, to always love him no matter what stood in their way. And now here he was, standing in front of his mirror, practicing what he would say when he would propose to Johnny.
"You have always made me so happy and..." Ponyboy started, before groaning. "No, too mushy.." he mumbled to himself, pacing back and forth. "I just have a few words to say.." he started again, before sighing. "Too straight forward.." he mumbled to himself again. He chewed on his bottom lip, having difficulty with his speech. "I knew from the day I met you, that you were the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, till death do we part. And I love you so much, so, I'm gonna pop the question, will you marry me?" The boy said to the mirror. A grin then spread across his features. "Yes! That's perfect!" He exclaimed happily. He practiced his speech a few more times, before grabbing the ring box and hiding it in his pocket, then strolling out the door and getting into his car. Johnny was still at work, and by the time he got to his work place he would have gotten off of work. He had told Johnny about the date in advance, but he didn't tell him about the proposal. Well, obviously he didn't. He planned to go to the spot where they had their first kiss. A nice and small field of flowers nearby where his work was. He smiled at the thought of how it would all plan out. He hummed a soft tune as he drove to Johnny's work place, happy about the night that was about to come.
After about ten or so minutes of driving, he arrived at his lovers work place. He stepped in and looked for him, grinning when he saw him serving a table of four. He came up behind him and wrapped his arms around him from behind. "Hey baby," he cooed, kissing his cheek. "You ready to go?" He asked. Johnny smiled, laughing quietly. "Aw cmon, not in front of the customers!" He whined playfully. He kept his smile plastered on his face though. "Yeah, just let me finish washing the dishes in the back, then I can clock out and head on with out date," he said. He wriggled out of Ponyboy's grasp, then headed to the back to finish washing up the dishes. Pony sat at an empty table, waiting patiently for his adorable boyfriend, and hopefully soon-to-be fiancé, to emerge from the kitchen and join him on their date.
Johnny soon came out of the kitchen, slipping out of his apron and clocking out. He grinned at Ponyboy, going up and kissing him softly. Ponyboy kissed him back, standing up and wrapping his arms around his waist. "Come on, hun, lets go," he said, smiling and chuckling. He wrapped an arm around him as he walked out of the restaurant, and over to his car. He opened the door to the passenger side for Johnny, earning a giggle and a happy smile from him. "Why thank you, kind sir," he joked, slipping in and sitting down. Ponyboy laughed as he shut the door and got into the drivers side of the car, holding Johnny's hand. "You're most very welcome, my lovely boyfriend," he said, kissing his knuckles ever so gently. He started up the car, then drove to the spot he planned to propose at.
"Alright, no peaking!" Ponyboy teased, chuckling as he led Johnny over to the candle lit spot. Johnny whined quietly, but he was smiling despite his impatience. Ponyboy then stopped, got down on one knee in front of him, then opened the ring box and looked up at him. "Ok, you can open your eyes," he said. Johnny let his eyes flutter open, looking around with shock and awe on his face at the scenery. "Ponyboy.." his voice trailed off when he looked down at him, and he gasped, covering his mouth, his eyes watering with happiness. Ponyboy smiled up at him, trying not to cry. "I knew from the day I met you, that you were the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, till death do we part. And I love you so much, so, I'm gonna pop the question, will you marry me?" Ponyboy asked, a small tear managing to escape his eye. Johnny nodded his head quickly, sniffling and shaking. But he was smiling. He was smiling more than he's ever smiled before. "Yes, yes, yes!" He exclaimed, tears rushing down his face. Ponyboy smiled happily, standing up and sliding the ring on his left ring finger, then kissing him passionately. He held him close and pulled away, looking down at him. "I love you, so so much.." he whispered. Johnny smiled. "I love you so much more.." he whispered back, pecking his lips and then kissing him again.
This would be a night the two young men would never forget about, and they were sure of it.
Till death would they part, they would stay together no matter what came in their way.
But..
A/N: ahhHHHH-
I felt really bad for not being able to get a chapter out ;-; so here's a nice long chapter for y'all! Final drafts I have in this book will be posted, and then I will be working on book 3!
Also, I'm really sorry my fanfics don't have a lot of chapters. I either end up running out of ideas, or I come up with really amazing ideas that would work really well with another part of the series. So sorry! I'll try my hardest to make book 3 longer than book 1 and book 2!
