Can happiness really last?

Chat Noir jumped from rooftop to rooftop under the thundering magenta sky. The people of paris were in a vegetative state breathing heavily and moving with no command on the streets.

The could above the heros made it hard to see anything clearly. It was like as far as he could see was considerably darker that it was before. Marinette didnt say anything just looked like the light had left her eyes. It bothered him how much Marinette changed when she fought Bridgette. All the confidence and determination was broken down when she fought her cousin.

'What is wrong with her. She no better than a doll.'

Constantly looking behind him over the rooftops and the streets below. He didnt know where was a safe place anymore. Adrian had to find a hiding place fast, his miraculous was already down to three minuets.

"Ladybug! Chat Noir! Took you long enough to come here!"

Adrian had no intentions of heading anywhere, the least of all Hotel Bourgeois, the third ping comming from his ring pushing the boundaries of his sanity. Was this really a good idea, did he have time to think of a new one?

He already used his cataclysm as a distraction to knock down the Eiffel Tower. Ladybug was like a doll in his arms staring off at nothing with a sorrowful expression. With seconds left of his transformation and a super villian hot on his tail he made the choice to hop ip to the rooftops balcony.

Both heros were snuck into the hotels maintenance door of the hotels roof. The power must have already gone out beacuse the entire hotel was dark. Chloe was navigating through the pitchblack halls with her phone not saying a word keeping the silence.

With the final beep of his miraculous going off a strong lime light illuminated the hotels halls. Chloe did watch the small light show infront of her but never turned her back. She was Chloe Bourgeois she would never betray her heros trust in her but the temptation was strong.

"Did you seriously just-?"

"DONT LOOK!" Adrian said in desperation.

Chloe admittedly was taken back at the little outburst the sidekick had for her. She wanted to yell in his face for insulting her with a ridiculous outburst.

"Ugh -Calm down furball. I wasn't even going to try. . . Fine the kitchen's this way."

'I know.'

Adrian followed behind Chloe a few steps behind her feeling more safer in the dark. Chloe and him had grown up in the halls chasing and playing with the room serviece staff. As much as Chloe was more pain than friend these days he would never leave her behind.

"Where is everyone? Why are you here alone?"

". . .There safe. Daddy and the others are down stairs. Daddy has a few evacuation sites all over town. The ice rink. Mall. Most of them aren't ready yet or still a work in progress. Luckly Daddy made sure ours was made first. "

Chloe lead the group through the hotel bit something always stopped them every odd turn or so. They would hear scratching in the walls and stayed away from any vents. This was like some kind of apocalypse game with luggage and open doors on each hall.

This scared adrian but he followed Chloe and stayed out of the vents untill the scratching went away. Plagg was also on edge pulling a length of hair when he would hear or smell anything odd.

When they finally made it to the double doors of the kitchen Chloe told them to stay behind and let her get the smelly cheese. There was something wrong with Chloe the closer they got to the kitchen. From her pacing it was almost like she rather do anything then go inside the kitchen.

Adrien waited next to the kitchen doors watching the chloes shadow move in the light under the doors. As Ladybug rested with her back against the wall quiet and still. Plagg came out of of adrians inner shirt trying his best to comfort his friend.

Adrian jolted every so often trying his best not to fall asleep. Chloe wasn't the type of girl who knows her way around a kitchen so he expected it to take awhile. A crash of pots and pans jolted him awake. Chloe must have dropped sonething. Settled with his back against the wall facing his lady who was. . .standing infront of him?

"Ladybug? Wha-".

"Luck. Charm", ladybugs monotone voice looking down at him.

Adrienwas stunned as he watched his lady summon Antibugs sword in a red light of shining ladybugs. Marinette swayed left struggling with her giant sword before swinging at Adrien. Adrien tucked and rolled beneath the razor sharp swing closer to her body hoping not to fight her. Wrong choice, Adrien was sent flying to the wall with a round house kick to the chest

"Marinette Dupain-Cheng! What the hell?!"

Adrien opened his eyes to see chloe blocking the attack with a metal ladle. With both hands on each end Chloe fought back against the giant blade. Both girls struggled beyond a certain point until Chloe made one final push and kicked ladybug square in the stomach.

Chloe held the trashing heroine down.

"Adrian RUN!"

". . . I. I CANT LEAVE EITHER YOU!" Adrians eyes were burning with heavy tears. Flashes of the little girl with the teddy bear flashed in his head. A sweet smile for a sweet girl.

"DONT BE AN IDIOT! Your the only one who can save us. Save everyone! I lied Adrian! There is no bunker or safe room anyone went to! Rats burst through the front door and bit everyone. I only survived beacuse I was a coward! I'm not doing that anymore!"

Adrian noticed the fresh bite mark on Chloes sleeve. It was purple and black. The crash from earlier was from her being bitten. Thats why she wanted to go alone and had Adrian stay behind.

"Adrian lets go!" Plagg pulled at his sleeve and both of them left the angry bug fighting Chloes grip. There was something or someone talking to Chloe beacuse halfway down the hall he heard chloe taunt the voice.

"HA! Your trying to break my heart?! IM CHLOE BOURGEOIS! I DON'T HAVE A HEART!"
