Chapter 8

Magnus had never seen something as big as this. The anniversary was only an hour away, the Romans had shown up a few hours ago and they were just finishing building the podium for speakers. Magnus looked at Nico, "How do they work so fast?" Nico glanced at him, "They're Roman." As if that explained anything. So Magnus went to Percy and asked the same thing. "They're Roman," Magnus got the same reply. He groaned and joined Alex who was busy talking to a girl in a purple cape, "So, how do you guys build things so fast?" Maybe Magnus would finally get an answer, "We're Roman," was the answer the purple caped girl gave. Magnus groaned which stated his presence to the two girls, "Who are you even, I've never met you or heard of you." The purple cape girl held her hand out, "Praetor Reyna, I'm a daughter of Bellona." Magnus shook Reyna's hand before he asked, "So could you expand on the whole 'we're Roman' thing? I still don't understand how you build stuff so fast." Reyna smiled before expanding her answer from before, "Romans were always amazing builders and some of the best, it's something we pride ourselves in." Magnus finally understood. He nodded in thanks before Alex grabbed his arm and dragged him towards the seats. The anniversary was starting soon.
Thalia grabbed a seat beside the Norse children. She nodded a hello before turning towards the now finished stage. Chiron walked up and welcomed them, "Hello children and welcome to the heroes anniversary for the fallen. We are going to start off with a few words for each of the fallen heroes." Chiron cantered off stage and Thalia walked up, "Uhm hi, it's been a while, but I'm here to tell you about my brother Jason Grace," She took a deep breath, "Jason was an amazing hero, I think we all know that." The crowd solemnly nodded and Thalia continued, "He wasn't always a hero and I know that because I lived with him for the first few years of his life before he went to Lupa. He wasn't famous and strong and heroic, he was just the idiotic baby brother that tried to eat staplers." At that everyone laughed, "Jason grew to be an amazing person who died for the right cause, let us all respect his sacrifice and keep peace."
After Thalia's speech everyone clapped.
Nico was up next, "Hey, again it's been a while but I'm going to talk about my sister Hazel. She died twice both for the right cause. Hazel had been born in the 1930's and she was forced into waking one of the giants. But in the end she realized what was happening she destroyed the cavern she was in killing both her mother and herself." At this people who didn't know gasped, "She gave up Elysium so her mother would not suffer the Fields of Punishment. When I was walking through the Fields of Asphodel I found her. She wasn't like the other ghouls, she remembered everything from her past life, it was probably because she was a daughter of Pluto. So I got her out and brought her to the Roman camp where she thrived. She fought bravely in the war and once again sacrificed herself for the greater good. She has now found peace in Elysium along with all the other heroes, I made sure each and every one of them got Elysium." Everyone had tears in their eyes, their loved ones were finally at peace. Reyna went up next.
"Hello, this is for Frank my former partner. I watched him grow from a bumbling idiot to a terrifying warrior. I had my doubts, he seemed too childish and clumsy but I'm proud to say he was a friend." Short and sweet but everyone was crying once more.
Drew surprisingly went up for Piper, "Okay hi guys, so like, I hated Piper so much at the start cuz she was like, stealing all the fame, but like, I've come to realize that she deserved it cuz she was a good person." Everyone's mouth dropped to the floor. Drew Tanaka praised Piper which never happened. Drew strutted off stage like nothing happened.
Nyssa shuffled up to talk about Leo. "Uh, hey, so obviously I'm gonna talk about Leo. When he first got here, he annoyed me to no ends but when we were dealing with the rouge mechanic dragon problem he went out and fixed it making Festus as well as finding us Bunker 9 which is now where we mostly work us Hephaestus children. When I heard he died I cried for a while cuz over the course of however long it was he had grown to be such an amazing brother even if we weren't related through both our parents." This had turned into a crying fest.
Percy nervously walked up, "Hey, so this is for Annabeth, my Wise Girl." Everyone cooed at the pet name, "So uh, I've known Annabeth since I was 12 and we've been friends since then as well. The first thing she said to me was 'you drool when you sleep.' and I guess that could be when I started liking her I don't know. But Annabeth and I went through everything together. I had to think of someone who anchored me to the mortal world when I got my Achilles heel. Annabeth was my anchor. She still is even if she's gone. I fell into Tartarus for her and I would do it again if it meant I could get her back. I would do anything to be with my Wise Girl again." Everyone was full on bawling by how much emotion was in Percy's voice, "I loved Annabeth with all my heart, I had already been thinking of our future together, but that future got ripped away from us when Gaea killed her." Percy took a deep breath, "When I spent all those months on the Argo II with the rest of the seven, I felt happy and like I had a family, I loved them all and when they died I almost lost it but I had Thalia and Nico to help me through it as well as the group of mortals." Everyone was crying their eyes out. Percy had so much emotion in his voice it moved everyone.
Magnus saw just how much Annabeth meant to Percy. He felt kinda bad for going off at him when he heard that Annabeth had died.
The anniversary continued and almost everyone from camp came up to say something about one of the fallen. By the end of the night everyone had cried so much that they wouldn't be able to cry for weeks. They had dried out.

Whoo hoo another chapter done I'm on a roll.

I kinda have a plotline for this so we're gonna go with it.
