Rue's POV

I spent a good portion of my summer in rehab. I had no intention of staying clean in and that's when I first met Jules. After coming back from rehab I immediately go to Fez's who's like my brother and who's always had my back no matter what.

One thing I couldn't get out my head was that girl on the bike I saw while I was on my way home luckily my friend/drug dealer Fez was able to give my a " background " on her.

" There some new girl in town I think you going to be friends with " Fez says.

" Who " I ask.

"Shit, I don't know, she came in here yesterday looking all sailor moon and shit, and I'm thinking this somebody Rue would get along with " he says while smoking.

I just nod my head.

"So how long you been back " he asks as he lets out smoke.

" Five days " I reply.

" And like how you feeling " he asks me.

" Every since I gave my life to my lord and savior Jesus Christ things have been like really good " I say jokingly.

" Oh word " he says.

"I'm just fucking with you Fez" I say while laughing.

" Aye, I don't judge " he says chuckling.

"But lowkey is Ashtray in the back " I ask.

" You serious " he ask with a shocked look on his face.

" What you think since I been to rehab I stayed clean " I asked.

" I mean ain't that the point " he asks confusingly.

" Well the worlds coming to a end and I haven't even graduated high school yet " I say as I walk into the store.

Aaliyah's POV

I'm riding on my skateboard since I never really been a bike person to see Fez. I don't have anything against him especially since he's the only one who really has always looked out for me. He's someone I always called my big brother despite the drug shit.

Once I get there I see Fez smoking a cigar and I walk up to him slowly and nervously.

" What's up Fez " I say.

" Yo, what's good with 'cha " he says as he gives me a hug.

" Nothing much just trying to get my shit together " I say shrugging.

" Oh word " he says nodding his head.

Then a white truck pulls up and out walks Nate Jacobs somebody I've hated since middle school especially since he lied and said I slept with him during the freshman formal.

Rue later told me he tried to finger her without her permission I mean seriously dude.

As I turn my head I feel a smack on my butt as Nate winks at me.

" Missed you Aaliyah " he says.

I just roll my eyes.

Then as I turn my head I see Rue and my heart skips a beat, I forgot she also stayed in the neighborhood close to me she notices me to and smiles but as fast as it came it left.

" Yo, i'll do it for Rue " Nate yells as he and drives off, while laughing with Mckay.

I'm surprised he was friends with somebody like Nate. From the times I met Mckay he was always real sweet, I think Le'Anna had a thing for him but she backed off once he started dating Cassie.

" I really hate him" I say as Fez just chuckles.

" How you doing Liyah " Rue asks me.

" I'm straight " I shrug my shoulders.

" Ya'll going to McKay's party " Fez asks us.

" Hell yeah " Rue says.

" How bout you " she asks me.

" I doubt my parents are going to let me " I say.

" Just say you going to a friends house or something, please " she says giving me a phony puppy dog face.

" I guess I could try to but can't promise nothing " I say truthfully.

My phone goes off and I see in all caps from my sister that my dad wants me home for a drug test.

Here we go with this bullshit again.

"Ugh, I gotta go see y'all later. Hopefully tonight " I say sighing out loud.

"Aight " Fez says.

"See you Liyah" Rue says.

I grab my skateboard and race home as I enter the house the look on my dad's face says all.

Back to the same old bullshit.

I really wish he would let me live my life, I literally just go out of rehab. But it's better to prove him wrong than just argue with him.
