delicate but deadly

ECHO sat up from her bed, popping her neck, letting out a relieved noise as it began to feel slightly better.

After she was attacked by Stefan, Damon had found her, brought her to his room, and waited for her to wake up with a pair of clean clothes.

When she first woke up, she was filled with anger, she absolutely hated Stefan. He had killed her twice within just a couple of days, and he had also attacked Elena to the point where she was almost dead. Echo had made Damon give her sister some blood to heal the bite would that was on her neck.

Walking into her sister's room, Elena asked, "You coming?"

The older twin knew she was incapable of protecting herself, so she enlisted the help of Alaric to train her. She wanted Echo to come and help her, as well.

"I wish, but I'm going over to Damon's," Echo stated with a small smile as she thought about her best friend.

Elena smirked at her sister. "Just kiss already!" She told Echo who scowled, and threw a pillow at her which ended up with them having a pillow fight.

CAROLINE gave a weak smile as she walked up to the building with her friends by her, stating, her voice flat, "Here we are. Senior year."

The girls all looked at the school feeling defeated.

"Anyone else think it should feel slightly more empowering," Bonnie asked saying what all the girls were feeling inside.

"Okay. So prank night was a bust. But we are accepting it, and we are moving on," Caroline told her friends.

"You're right. I mean, why should I let the fact that my boyfriend is seeing the ghost of his dead girlfriend hinder this experience," Bonnie said sadly with sarcasm lacing her voice.

Joining in, Echo said, "Or the fact that Stefan has killed me twice in the past few days which left me bleeding out of my throat."

"Yes," Caroline cheered, "And why should I let the fact that my boyfriend was turned into a hybrid put a damper on an otherwise fabulous day."

The other three girls stood in front of Elena, forcing smiles on their face.

Suddenly breaking the silence, Elena said, "Today's our anniversary." Her friends turned around as she added on to her statement, "Technically, Stefan and I met on the first day of school last year." She sighed and then turned to Echo, and said, "you win, though."

Trying to comfort her sister, Echo asked, "Are you sure you want to be here?"

Elena shook her head. "I have to be here. I have to put it behind me. New year. New life." She finished with a fake smile trying to seem like nothing was bothering her.
