Marie's P.O.V.

"I love it!" I say after seeing the perfect shade of sky blue on my nails.

"Selfie!" I hear stef say as she holds out her phone.

I get next to her, holding up my hand and she does as well and we smile.

"That's cute!"

"Yea. Ready to go shopping or are you hungry?" She asks me.

"Let's go eat, please." I get up and go to the front with stef.

"Awww! Cute! Mother daughter bonding! Your daughter is so cute! I hear the person at the counter say.

I just know stef is gonna introduce me as her foster daughter.

"Yes. And she is the most amazing daughter!" Stef says.

"But she looks nothing like you. Shes just a foster kid."  I hear a person say.

By that point I was in tears and ran out the salon.

"She is not just a foster daughter. Shes my daughter!" I hear stef angrily say.

I'm sitting on the hood of her car, crying when she comes out and holds me.

"I'm so sorry, sweetheart.  Pay no attention to them. Foster daughter or not you're my daughter,  okay?"

"Okay." I managed to say while crying.

"Let's go get something to eat. What sounds good?"

"Can we go to Olive Garden?" I asked feeling hopeful.

"That's my favorite restaurant!"

I smile. That was my favorite restaurant too. We get in the car and go to Olive Garden and sit down.

"I'm gonna get the salad and a water." Stef said.

"I'll get the same and some little crackers." I reply.

I cant help but feel safe around stef. She defended me and makes me feel....oh I dont know not worthless. I smile at stef.

"What's up?"

"Nothing. Just want to thank you for defending me."

"I would always defend you, sweetie." Stef says.

Moments later our food comes and we eat and talk. She tells me about herself and I realize we have a lot in common. She likes sky blue, Olive Garden, roller skating and dogs. She's awesome!

Stef's P.O.V.

We are currently at Olive Garden eating lunch and talking and shes telling about this pet store that has puppies in the pen that you can play with. I smile.

"We can go there too." I say.

Her face lit up.

"Really?" I heard her say with a smile on her face.

"Yes. We can go there after lunch."

That's it. I'm gonna talk to lena tonight about adopting her. I'm serious! She's not just some lowly foster kid. She's MY kid. I know that this is meant to be.

After lunch, I go and pay and we go to the pet store. I see her run inside and I smile and go in after her and see her in the pen with the puppies.

I pull out my phone and take pictures.

"Come pet one, stef!" I hear her say.

Obviously I go in and as soon I do all the 7 little puppies come running to me, wagging their tails. I laugh and lay on the floor with Marie.
