In sickness and in health (Countryhumans Sickfic)

Chapter 1

"It's going to be fine Maja. I'll be with you when we go outside and we can do whatever you want after I'm done with all of the meetings and work, or whatever it is they have planned." Soviet gently held his girlfriends hand and gave it a light squeeze in encouragement and reassurance.

"Don't worry too much about me, I'm doing much better in public now because of you." She stood on her tiptoes and gave Ussr a quick kiss on the cheek.
"Mostly because everything is better and easier with you, I honestly don't know what I would do without you."

Soviet smiled and pulled her into a warm hug.
"I don't know what I would do without you either." He could feel her nuzzle her face into him and her arms embrace his upper body.

They pulled away when she reluctantly had to remind him they both needed to finish packing so they don't forget anything.

"We don't want to travel all the way there and then suddenly find out we forgot to bring our favorite pink frilly socks or the tanned bear plushie, now would we?" She joked. Soviet only smiled a little but he chuckled on the inside.

They both finished packing, but had at least two hours until they needed to head out for the airport.

"Ahhh, I'm excited and anxious for tomorrow. Mostly excited!" Maja giggled in joy but Ussr could tell she wasn't as giddy as she tried to appear.

"What are you stressing about? The plane?" He looked at her and watched as the smile slid from her face and she slowly nodded.

"I'm worried there's gonna be a lot of people in the airport or that the plane will crash..." She started tugging at her clothes and fidgeting with her fingers.

Soviet took her hands on his and stared her straight in the eyes as he spoke to her.
"Don't worry дорога́я(darling), I will always be with you. Nothing bad will happen." Soviet's thick Russian accent might scare some, but it was soothing and comforting for Maja. She smiled and gave him a hug before kissing his lips softly.

"You do so much for me... You complete me Soviet. I'm so happy I have you in my life. I can actually enjoy days because I know I have someone worth living for." She wiped away some tears forming in her eyes before Soviet kissed her back.

"You know I feel the same, I love you."

They intertwined their fingers in a loving handhold before scooting closet together to semi cuddle. Maja lay her head on Soviets shoulder and he laid his head on hers.

"I love you too."
