Notice: Although this story part has been mysteriously deleted twice before - with no notice or warning - we will not be silenced. All comments and votes have been lost, however. Our measures to prevent this seem to have failed, but fear not, as we are working hard to ensure that everything is working. We can not and will not be stopped.
Many users have no idea what is happening due to Wattpad hiding the details, and only a small amount of users are active on the forums. This is why we need you to spread the word alongside us. Comment, share this book on your wall, tell your friends about this, let people know. United in knowledge, we stand stronger. We will not let such an important part of Wattpad be taken away from us.
What you can do:
1. Share this book in any way you possibly can. Be it (re)tweeting and following us on Twitter, sharing this on your message board, or even PMing this to friends - the more people that know about this the better, because this will affect all of us, readers and writers alike.
2. Tag a friend who you think should know about this. Do not hesitate to let more people know of this.
3. Comment on the discussion questions below. Let Wattpad know that we are capable of showing what we do and don't want, and maybe even come up with a solution or two in the process.
The discussion:
1. Did you know about this 'feature' before you found this book? If yes, how? If no, are you glad that you know now?
2. How will the change affect you, as a writer or a reader?
3. Are you a Premium user? Both if yes or no, why?
4. The current offline limit for non-paying users is one to three stories. Is that too much? Too little? How many would you want to be offline? Do you even want a limit to be there, or simply a choice to download and remove stories as you please?
5. How do you feel about the fact that stories that aren't Paid or Offline are called "Other"?
6. What do you think about the way Wattpad has been heading lately, with the shut-down of Futures (writers making money through ads), the monetization of more and more stories, and now putting an ancient feature behind a paywall?
7. Would you pay $5 a month for Premium now that it's the only way to get more than three stories available for offline reading?
8. What do you think Wattpad could have done differently or better when it came to announcing this feature and releasing it to the world?
9. What is a good alternative for putting offline reading behind a paywall? A solution to this that may be viable for Wattpad HQ to use?
Go forth, and share this information with the world. Don't let your voice be silenced. Together, we will be heard.
