E.J: Oh, others have seen you?

The girl: Yeah, why are you asking?

E.J: You just seem kinda shy, I mean, you didn't want me to see you.

The girl: Well, I thought I wasn't supposed to be seen after that group of people ran away, there were three boys and one girl.

E.J: Ok...

I inspect him closely, trying to read his expression. It is really hard to do with his mask on. Is he really gonna be my friend? Should I ask?

E.J: Um...hello?

The girl: Yeah?

E.J: Are you ok?

The girl: Yeah...I have a question.

E.J: Go ahead and ask.

The girl: Are you actually my friend?

E.J: Yeah, sure...

I smile.

The girl: Thanks, I don't remember much about my life before the mirror. I don't know if I even had friends.

E.J: Ok...

The girl: Is something wrong?

E.J: No, why?

The girl: You just seem...something seems off.

E.J: It's nothing.

The girl: Are you sure?

E.J: Yeah.

The girl: Ok...

I start to worry. Is everything ok? Is something wrong? I close my eyes and think about what it could be. I look down at my tattered white dress, and realise it has a red stain on it. Does he see it? Does he care? What about my hair? It's a mess of h/c tangles. I look at him. I wish he would take his mask off, then I could read his emotions.

E.J: So, I have to go but I'll see you tomorrow?

The girl: Yeah... See you tomorrow.

He turns to leave.

The girl: Hey, uh E.J.?

E.J: Yeah?

The girl: Could you...could you take off your mask?

E.J: ...No, I really can't.

The girl: Could you at least tell me where you're going?

E.J: I have to go home, there are people who will question me if I'm gone to long.

The girl: Ok...bye.

He walks out and once again I'm alone.
