Eight

Aidyn's POV

I turned after I processed it and emptied my stomach. This is a kid I saw everyday and that is the worst way to die. The sun started to rise and the cool morning air hit all of us.

"Take the body and arm to the morgue so we can find out more. I'll tell the Alpha and Luna." I said with authority in my voice. They nodded and grabbed everything and walked off just as the morning shift people got there.

"If you find anything suspicious contact me immediately." I said pointing at them. They nodded and shifted before starting their shift. I walked to the pack house with that horrifying image stuck in my head. It was a sickening sight that I wanted out of my head. I had everyone in the pack blocked from my mind link so no one could contact me. I walked up the stairs of the pack house and pushed the door open as little kids shot out. I motioned for some people to watch them cause I didn't want something bad happening to them.

I walked up the stairs to Jacob and Addyson's office. The sound of three voices in there made me pause but I opened up the door with a shrug. The three people stood and looked at me. Jacob, Addy and Alyssa.

"Where have you been Aidyn? We've been trying to contact you for hours." My cousin growled.

"While you were sound asleep I was taking care of something boarder control found." I growled back.

"And what did boarder control find?" Jacob asked concerned about it.

"The most sickening thing I have ever seen." I said as the picture popped into my mind.

"What was it?" Addyson asked.

"One of the pups." I said.

"So?" The two asked.

"Did you not feel the pain from the breaking bond of the pack mind link?" I questioned shocked.

"We felt it but we assumed that one went rogue." Jacob said shrugging.

"I wish that was the case but the pup was found dead. Neck snapped, blood covering severe wounds and the worst part is they cut his arm off." I said as the whole scene replayed in my head. Addyson and Alyssa gasped and Jacob sucked in a breath. It was silent  I looked up and saw Addyson and Alyssa shedding some tears. I opened my arms and Alyssa quickly walked into my arms. Thunder sounded and a couple minutes later rain started to pour down.

"Aidyn and I will talking to the warriors. I want you two to stay inside. Aidyn's parents will be in the living room so stay there with them." Jacob said then kissed Addyson on the forehead. They nodded and Jacob led Addyson downstairs to my parents.

"Do you have to go with him?" Alyssa asked as I wiped a tear from her face.

"Yes. Just stay with my parents. They won't let you get hurt." I said and kissed her temple and led her down to my parents. Jacob was explaining the situation when we got down.

"You ready Aidyn?" He asked looking at me.

"Yeah." I said and gave Alyssa a quick kiss before running outside with Jacob. Wd shifted and I shook my fur out and glanced back at Alyssa who was looking at me. I whined and then ran off with Jacob towards the warrior house. The not flashed in my mind and I sped up. Seeing the warrior house we howled and some walked out with extra clothes and towels. Once we were under the deck we shifted and pulled the sweats on and towels were wrapped around our shoulders.

"We have a war coming up in two weeks." Jacob breathed put shivering.

"We came to make plans and discuss them." I said shivering as well.

"Come on in Alpha and Beta." The top warrior said.

They helped us get into the house and all of them filled the huge livingroom. Some brought us some hot chocolate and then set some food on the table for us. We thanked them and sat still for a bit glancing at each other.

"So who's the war with?" One asked finally.

"Rogues." I said while it thundered. My wolf whimpered feeling the fear from my mate.

"They killed a pack member. I'm going to leave the details put but there was a note found. We have two weeks to get ready." Jacob said.

"We will have the planners draw out a plan this afternoon into tomorrow then we will call you guys over the next day to perfect it." The top warrior said.

"Sounds great. Do you mind if we stay until the rain isn't pouring as hard?" Jacob asked taking a drink from his hot chocolate.

"You're always welcome here Alpha Jacob." He said and went to go talk to the planners.

"When did you find your mate Beta Aidyn?" One of the warriors asked.

"A couple weeks maybe a couple months ago." I said taking a drink of my hot chocolate.

"Congratulations Beta." They said and went back to work. We finished our hot chocolate and the food they set out when the rain slowed down to a slight drizzle.

"Thank you for letting us stay for a bit. We'll be over in two days." I said.

"We'll see you then." Was all the top warrior said before me and Jacob shifted and ran off. Thunder sounded once again and it was back to pouring rain. The rain fell harder and it felt like little rocks hitting you all over. We saw the pack house and I howled over the rain. My mom and dad came out with towels and clothes. I shifted and grabbed the sweats and my mom placed a towel over my head. I pulled the sweats on and shivered waiting for Jacob.

"Come on. We better get you in before you catch a cold." My mom said ushering us in.

"I won't catch a cold." I said before coughing.

"Repeat that again? I'm not sure I understood." My mom said with a slight smirk.

"Where's Alyssa?" I asked shivering still.

"Addy and her are asleep on the couches in the livingroom." My mom said and went back to cooking dinner.
