Ten

There wasn't a single sound in the house which was unusual but I didn't care. I rolled to my otherside and tried to sleep but I felt like I was being watched. I woke up and sat up in bed to see everyone in the pack smiling with my mate, my best friend and cousin standing in front with a cake. A week went by quickly since last week me and Jacob were screaming our lungs out and during that week Alyssa woke up sick to her stomach.

"Happy Birthday." Everyone said in unison. Suddenly my mate jumped onto my and wrapped her small arms around my neck. Once I processed it I smiled and hugged Alyssa back. I put my face in her neck inhaling her scent.

"Are you going to blow out the candles Beta Aidyn?" A little girl asked as she looked up at me. I picked her up smiled and set her on my lap.

"How about you help me. Does that sound good?" I asked looking at her.

"Yeah." She said with a big smile and Jacob held the cake closer. I looked at the girl and she smiled.

"You have to make a wish." She said.

"I do?" I asked.

"Yeah. That's the rules. You close your eyes real tight and you blow out the candles." She said with a serious look.

"That means you have to close your eyes real tight too." I said laughing.

"Okay." She said bouncing slightly. We both closed our eyes and my wish came to me immediately. We both blew out the candles and the sound of a camera went of. I opened my eyes smiling and gave the girl to her parents. Alyssa smiled and wrapped her arms around me laying her head on my chest.

"Here's one of your presents." She whispered and handed me a small thin box. I opened it up and saw a pregnancy test. The only reason why I knew it was called that is because my mom told me along with my sister. It read positive. I frowned and looked at Alyssa and she looked at me with nervous eyes.

"Is this yours?" I asked quietly.

She bit her lip nodding as she watched my reaction. I looked at it again then it dawned on me that I was going to be a dad I jumped up and pulled Alyssa to me hugging her. I picked her up spinning around with a huge smile on my face. I set her down and pressed my lips to hers as my hands rested in each side of her face. I pulled away smiling and turned to the pack who looked at me shocked.

"She's pregnant." I shouted happily pulling her to my side as I looked at her with happiness and love in my eyes. People cheered and I couldn't be happier.

"Alpha Jacob. Beta Aidyn. They're here." The top warrior said as he grabbed the door frame.

"Women and children along with boys younger than eighteen in the panic room. Everyone else follow us." Jacob shouted. I bent down and gave Alyssa a long love filled kiss.

"I love you Alyssa. Remember that if I don't come back." I whispered and wiped her tears away. I gave her another kiss before Addyson hugged me and took Alyssa and ran off. Me and Jacob ran off towards the fighting along with the other males with us. I got out and shifted lunging at the closest rogue quickly killing him before running off again.

Alyssa's POV

We all hid quietly in the hidden panic room. My and Addyson were walking around checking on everyone. We hadn't expected them to attack early. Aidyn said that they had one more week to get ready. My face still had the stains of tears from only twenty minutes ago. I told Addyson that I would be back and walked to a part where no one was and sat down silently crying. I was a week pregnant with Aidyn's child and I couldn't raise it alone. I needed Aidyn. He said to always remember that he loves me if he doesn't come back. I didn't want to let him go but I had to. He had to fight for the pack.

He was protecting the pack along with any other male who was eighteen or older. The girl who blew out candles with Aidyn earlier walked over to me with a frown.

"Is Aidyn going to be okay?" She asked her lips quivering and her eyes shining with unshed tears.

"I hope so." I whispered. She sat beside me hugging me letting her own tears fall. I pulled her to my lap and let her cry on my shoulder as I silently cried worried about my mate. Her mom came over to me with a sad smile and took her sleeping child with a smile.

"Thank you." She whispered.

I nodded then pulled my knees to my chest silently crying still. It's been two hours and Aidyn wasn't hurt just yet. I was thankful for that. I was silently crying as I watched all of them sleep peacefully. Addyson smiled and walked over to me and sat next to me.

"What's wrong?" She whispered.

"What if he doesn't come back?" I asked with tears running down my face.

"He will come back. He always does. Besides he has you and a child on the way. He has a family to come home too. Aidyn will for sure come home. I know it." She said grabbing my hand. Just then her eyes widened and she squeezed my hand.

"Addyson! Are you okay?" I asked as I moved closer to her side.

"He's being born now." She said.

"Who here is a nurse or a doctor!" I shouted waking up all of the adults.

"Us three are." Said one of them.

"The Luna is in labor." I said.

"Get her on a bed. Ladies, be ready to help with the birth of the next alpha." The one in the middle said.
