Jacob and I walked in and saw the two girls sound asleep. Addyson with her arm over her big stomach and Alyssa hugging a pillow. I sat next to Jacob on the ground as we started watching the movie. We were still wrapped in towels and shivering.

"Mom! Can you turn the heater on?" I shouted.

"You can do it yourself. Just go down to the basement." My mom said. Me and Jacob glanced at each other and pointed to the other one. We tried different ways to get out of going down there since it has scared us ever since we were little.

"How about both of you go so that way you can help the other defend themselves against the scary monster." My dad laughed.

We narrowed our eyes at him but pulled our towels closer to our bodies and walked towards the door shivering from the cold and fear. We stepped down and slowly as we practically held each other. Crazy to think that two twenty-one year olds holding each other going down the stairs of a basement they have been scared of since they were little.

I turned the heater on and we turned around coming face to face with a skeleton head. We both screamed as loud as we could and ran up the stairs with the towels. Then a tool touched my ankle and we both screamed again only louder.

"It's got me!" I said in panic and grabbed Jacob's arm. He pulled me up and we ran out closing the door panting and leaning against the door with wide eyes. The girls looked at us strangely while my dad tried not to laugh.

"We are never going down there again." We both breathed out at the same time.

"Dinner is ready." My mom said walking in and looking at mine and Jacob's scared faces.

"Did the monster get you two?" She laughed. We both growled and pulled our towels closer to our bodies and walked off as Addyson and Alyssa laughed. We kept mumbling to each other and got our food before disappearing to Jacob's office.

"They just don't get it." He finally said.

"Exactly." I said.

"You know what, we will go back down there and prove to them that we aren't chickens." He said taking a bite from his soup.

"Yeah. Wait no." I said looking at him.

"Come on Aidyn. This is a silly fear from when we were like five." Jacob said.

"We were four and it was because the adults planted that in our heads." I said reminding him.

"We'll take a flashlight this time." He said before the power went out. We both shot up screaming and ran down the stairs as quick as possible. We shot into the kitchen and quickly rummaged through everything and I grabbed what I thought was a flashlight while Jacob grabbed the actual flashlight. We turned it on and saw I grabbed a knife. I shrugged and set it down following him out where my parents and the girls sat with the brighter flashlight.

"What is with you two?" Addyson said.

"We're paranoid fucks who watch to many horror movies." I growled.

"What he said. Wait what?" Jacob said.

"We're going back to the office." I said and snatched a roll and we carefully made our way up. We then saw two dark figures coming towards us and we let put a scream running down the stairs quickly.

"They're real!" Jacob shouted as he hid behind my dad.

"They're after us!" I said at the same time and followed him behind my dad. The door opened and Jacob squeaked but we saw my sister and her mate.

"What are they screaming about now?" She asked glaring at us.

"Nothing." We said quickly.

"They're paranoid fucks that watch too many horror movies. Their words not mine." Addyson said.

"Shut up." I growled and pulled Jacob up.

"Now we are really going to go up to the office." Jacob said dragging me out as everyone laughed.

We mumbled to ourselves and closed the door and sat down eating. We grumbled on about what happened not wanting to say too much. Once we finished our food we walked downstairs and put our dishes in the sink and turned around saw everyone standing there watching us.

"You should be dry by now." My mom said pointing at the towels hanging from our heads.

"Whatever. We're going to figure out what's going on with the power." I said.

"You're going down into that creepy basement again." My dad laughed.

We shot them glares and walked down grumbling. We worked on fixing the lights and looked up stairs seeing the lights come on and smiled. We turned and saw Jacob's brother standing there with a flashlight and we screamed running upstairs.

"It's real!" Jacob shouted dragging me up the stairs. We slammed the door closed and then realization dawned on us.

"Stupid. It was your brother." I growled out before the door opened and Jacob's brother closed it again.

"Really Jacob." He growled.

"We're paranoid." He mumbled crossing his arms.

"The first time it was a decoration and the second was your brother. I think it's just you." I said.

"You screamed too Aidyn." His brother shot back.

"We're paranoid." I mumbled and crossed my arms. Addyson came out and helped Jacob up and took him upstairs.

"Still haven't found your mate Aidyn?" Stormy asked.

"I found her." I said pointing to my neck where her mark rested.

"Well where is she?" He asked.

"Behind you." I said as she pushed him out of her way and wrapped her arms around me. I stuck my tongue out at him and wrapped my arms around her.

"I'm tired Aidyn." She said as she hugged me tighter.

"Come on." I whispered to her and picked her up bridal style.

I carried her up to our room and I got into bed with her. I wrapped my arm around her and his my face in her neck. I kissed her mark causing her to shiver. I smiled and pulled her to me before we actually fell asleep.
