3: Bittersweet

(Not your character's point of view, third person)

The three children were all sleeping on the bed, Steven down one end and the two girls down the other.

It was all silent. Steven was holding the bubble tight until there was a pop. Steven flinched but didn't wake up.

There was a glow of light and the gem drifted away a little bit to reform, she landed on the couch down stairs and glanced around.

Bismuth had reformed.

She looked around, confused. "In the house.." She muttered then her eyes widen, remembering something. She looked up the stairs and stared at the three kids, her eyes locking on Steven.

Why would they let me out? How did I get out if they're sleeping? The Bismuth thought.

Bismuth froze as she saw a pair of eyes locked on her, the girl sat up slowly and glanced over at Steven.

I woke with a start, something felt wrong. I turned over in the bed and saw the outline of a tall, thick built person. But was it a person?

It was impossible to know in the pitch black. So I sat up slowly and looked over at Steven.

The bubble was gone.

I locked eyes with The gem. "Are you..Bismuth?" I asked quietly.

"Yes." Bismuth confirmed. "Who are you?" She asked, her eyes glowing in the dark. She seemed to have worry in her eyes.

"I'm (Y/N)." I replied hesitantly. The gem gave a nod before glancing around in the dark. "Did you let me out?" She asked.

I shook my head. "Steven felt really bad so he brang your gem up here for the night." I explained to her. Bismuth smiled for a moment. "Glad to hear that."

"You're a friend of Ros- Steven's correct?" Bismuth asked after correcting herself. 

I gave a nod. "I'll wake him." I turned towards him.

"Wait." Bismuth whispered. "What if he-"

"I'm sure he wouldn't do anything bad to you." I told her, locking eyed with the gem for a few moments. I still couldn't see the gem and I really wanted to. Turning to Steven I shook him and he blinked awake. "(Y/N)..why Are you.." Steven paused, looking around on the bed beside him. "Where is She?" He demanded. "Did I pop it and she ran off?"

Steven shot up onto his feet without waiting for an explanation, making the bed quake, causing Connie to jerk awake in alarm.

"No, No! She's right there." I pointed to the outline on the stairs.

I watched a Steven tensed, eyes wide as he looked at Bismuth.

"Why would you feel bad for me after I just tried to shatter you, why would you bring me here when You're all..sleeping.." Bismuth demanded.

There was a huge flash of light, that came from the warp pad it lit up the entire room, revealing Bismuth.

My eyes widen at the gem, she had blue-grey skin and rainbow dreadlocks. She was very interesting looking.

"Steven we're home for your sleepover!" A voice called out, it sounded like Amethyst.

All four of them froze. Steven instantly tore the blanket off the bed and threw it over Bismuth, it ended up only covering her back slightly.

Then the lights turned on and they were all revealed. Bismuth stood instantly, her eyes wide as she had been spotted.

Pearl and Garnet gasped. "Bismuth?"
