My Boyfriend's Best Friend (Part 6)

Jade's POV:

I sit with Colby sleeping in my lap while we watch television. I eventually doze off as well and I wake up to Colby poking my nose and speaking softly. "Baby girl get up" He says in a baby voice. "Hey" I say softly opening my eyes. "Ready to head home?" He asks. We say goodbye to Sam and Katrina and we walk back to the apartment. I walk into my bedroom and take a shower and get changed. I hear a knock at my door. "Hey I'm heading to the doctor's I'll be back in about an hour" He says kissing my cheek. "Okay" I say sweetly going back to what I was doing. I faintly hear the front door open and close, then silence. I clean my room and my bathroom then start my laundry. By the time I was done with doing that Colby walks in the door. "Hey" He says kissing me softly. "Hi" I say happily. "So..." He says. "So..." I say mockingly. "The doctor gave me a medicine to help me sleep that should stop my night terrors, if that doesn't work then I will have to deal with it....There is a chance that they will get worse instead of better with this medicine though" He explains. I nod and hug him tightly. "Don't worry we will figure this out" I say cupping his face in my hands. "I have to go film with Sam tomorrow" He says softly as we sit on the couch. "Okay..." I reply. "Are you mad at me?" He asks. I shake my head and continue to watch television. "Jade what's wrong" He asks getting sort of agitated. "Nothing Cole, I'm fine okay just back off" I say sitting up and walking to my room and slamming the door behind me. I looked down at my phone and began to cry. Brennen somehow started to text me again even though I blocked his number. I lock my door and throw my phone across the room and scream. The ringing in my ears is soon diminished by the sound of banging on the door. "Jade...I know your not okay please open the door" Colby says softly. "Just go away Colby" I scream. "If that's what you want" He says faintly. I soon hear him walk away from the door and I hear his bed room door shut on the other side on the apartment. I faintly hear crying coming from his room but I just decide to leave him be for a while until he calmed down. After about an hour I couldn't resist not holding him in my arms anymore. I walk slowly and quietly to his room and open the door to see him on his bed hugging his pillow. His eyes are puffy and red. He cried himself to sleep. Pushing him away hurt him that bad. He really cares about me. I sat on his bed beside him slowly trying not to wake him. I then started to rub his back and his eyes slowly flutter open to look at me. "I'm sorry Colby, I didn't mean to push you away" I say softly. He smiles softly and then closes his eyes once more and then opens them again. "I'm sorry too, for forcing you to talk" He says sadly and sitting up. "You did the right thing" I say softly putting my hand on his cheek and he follows putting his hand on top of mine. "How about we go get some dinner" I say softly. He nods and starts to put his shoes on. We hop in his car and go to Tender Greens. We ordered our food and started to eat when we see Brennen. "How the fuck are you out?" Colby says glaring at him as he stands at the edge of the table. "I have my ways" He says smiling. "Get the fuck out of here" Colby yells. "Okay....Okay....but not promises I won't come back again" He says walking away. "I fucking hate him" Colby says balling his fists on the table. I put my hands on top of his and I feel his hands relax. "I know Colby but he isn't worth getting mad over" I say softly. "Lets just eat and go home please" He says softly. I nod and we finish eating and then drive home. "You have to take that medicine right" I ask as he is about to go to his room. "Yeah" He says showing me the bottle in his hand. "Make sure you get some sleep" He says softly. "Okay goodnight" I say kissing him and walking to my room. I lay on my bed and watch Netflix for the next 3 hours. I start to doze off when I hear Colby start to yell. I run out of my room and across the apartment and I open the door to see Colby completely passed out on the ground. I then look behind me and I see Brennen. "Goodnight" He says softly with a smile and then everything goes black. I wake up in a dark room and I try to move but I look down to see myself tied up. I move my hand a little bit and I feel a hand with rings on it. Colby. I wrap my hand around his and try to get his attention. I then see Brennen next to me with a bloody bat. "Yeah, he isn't waking up anytime soon...if he is even still alive" He says laughing. "You piece of shit" I scream and I feel a warm burning sensation on my cheek from him hitting me. "Calm down...Pretty boy is still breathing I just don't know if he will stay that way once i'm done with him" He says laughing. "Fuck you, you sadistic bastard" I say spitting in his face. He wipes the spit off of his face and then turns back to me. "I'll be back in about an hour, hang tight" He says waving to me. Once he leaves I start to cry and try to get Colby conscious again. "Colby.....baby.....please wake up baby" I say softly holding his limp hand. I then feel his grip tighten. "J..j.Jade" He says weakly. "Yes baby I'm here it's me..listen to me we are going to be okay...Sam will find us" I say to his softly. I he lays his head against mine. He then drops his head on my shoulder and Brennen walks back in. "I see pretty boy is up" He says swinging his bat. He hits Colby in the stomach once more and I hear him scream out in pain. I then hear voices and see lights on Brennen. He then pulls out a gun and points to Colby. "No.....Brennen...please no don't-" My voice is then cut off by a gunshot and a ringing in my ears. The cops untie us and I look to see Brennen dead on the ground or so I thought. Colby and I hug and kiss and he looks at me and smiles. I hear another gun shot and Colby looks at me. I fall to the the ground with Colby in my arms. Colby looks up at me and smiles weakly. "I'm okay baby.....It's just....my leg" He says softly. "He will be okay. it went straight through and it is in his leg so it should heal within a few weeks. I'll put a bandage on it and then we will drive you guys home" The paramedic says to me. "Okay" I say crying. "Baby hey....Look at me.....i'm alright" Colby says softly. I then see the cops cover up Brennen's body after they shot him a second time. They help us out into the parking lot and we see Sam and Katrina. They run up to us and we hug. We then go in Katrina's car and we go home. Sam helps Colby upstairs and brings him to bed and Katrina goes with me. I sit and hug Katrina before we are interrupted by Sam. "Colby wants you to lay with him" Sam says softly. I nod. "We are going to stay the night also if that is alright with you" He continues. "Yes that is more than alright, sleep in my bed" They both nod and they sit on my bed and sigh. "Goodnight I love you guys" I say softly. "Goodnight I love you too" Katrina and Sam say in unison. I walk out of my room and walk to Colby's. I walk in to see him laying in bed looking at me. He says nothing he just pats the bed beside him. I laugh and lay down beside him and he puts his arm around my waist and puts his head into the crook my neck. Almost instantly I hear his breathing slow and a light snore. I sit and run my fingers through his hair and I fall asleep soon after.
