I've been standing outside of the cinema for not even thirty seconds when Luke comes rushing out of the sliding door, hanging up the phone.

"You forgot your cardigan," He hands me my fluffy white cardigan. "It's cold outside."

I can't help but smile. Did I just swoon inside?

No. I can't be that girl.

"You didn't have to rush." I reply, pulling my cardigan on as we walk to the car.

"If I didn't my mum would've went on and on about how excited she is to meet you."

"Huh?" I choke.

"We're having dinner tonight at my house and she wanted me to invite you."

"Oh."

Luke's face falls. "You don't want to?"

"No it's just kind of... stressful." Wow way to go Violet trying to play it off cool.

"Don't worry it's just my mum, dad and my two cousins, my aunt and my younger brother."

"How olds your brother?"

He pulls out off the car park, "four and a half."

Oh great. Clueless little boy who will probably blurt out anything that comes to his head.

"How old are your cousins?"

"Both girls, same age as us."

I give him a look. "Would I happen to know them by any chance?"

"Don't worry they don't go to your school" he laughs.

"I don't know I feel like this is kind of... personal, like maybe you shouldn't-"

He turns into a street on a hill, overlooking a beach. They must be rich to afford views like this.

"This is just me, inviting you to my home for some dinner with some of my family. No stress, just good food and good conversation. Don't think about it too much."

"Should I try and make a first impression?"

He pulls up in the driveway, and walks around to my door to open it for me. "Depends if you want to see more of this."

I roll my eyes and even though Luke is walking right beside me telling me I have nothing to worry about...

There's literally every reason for me to worry. What if they question me? What if they hate me?

My entire body is shaking. This was so unexpected.

I feel like we just skipped all the bases and went straight into it, without even kissing.
