Chapter 6
"Kuma Imia." The crowd roared like this was the most exciting thing they've seen in years.
The boy noticed that people had been shaking hands and smirking or glaring at each other. They all were placing bets. "Kuma will beat him to a pulp." All of them heard from behind them.
"Like hell, Ukasi's got his in the bag. He'll be her first downfall." Another argued. They, of course, placed a bet, but of 10 billion. Killua's eyes were wide and Gon had tapped his shoulder to shake him out of the trance.
"Killua, what's wrong?" Gon asked slightly concerned.
"Ten billion. My family and I never got that much for doing a single job. Never. Well, depends actually who it is, but still!" Gon knew exactly how much Killua had made back in his killing fats, because Killua told him, and Gon was even surprised when he heard the words 'ten billion' come out of the guys' mouths.
"I know. But why would they bet so much?" Gon question and Killua shrugged. Even over all the cheering, Master Wing explained to the boy.
"Usually bets are made when they believe strongly in one victor, but for a match up like this, people bet higher because the stakes are higher and anything could happen. That's how the Floor Masters make money, they have assistants that go around and bet big money. My guess is that there are over 100 people in here making bets for those two and they all work for either of them." Everyone, but Zushi's, eyes went wide.
Leorio whistled, "Where do I sign up? They must make big money."
Zushi nodded, "They do, Mr. Leorio."
"Please kid, call me Leorio. Drop the mister." Zushi nodded smiling and turned back to the arena. The ref stood straight in the middle and held up his hand in the air. Everyone was quiet. Not a single sound was made.
Suddenly, the referee threw his arm down and shouted, "Begin match." The loudest sound you could possible imagine, is what they all heard right now. It was so loud, Gon couldn't even hear himself. But, there was another reason he couldn't hear himself, he was frozen in place. It's like that time when he met Hisoga and when Gon didn't know about nen. Killua was in the exact same place as Gon, so was everyone else in the crowd who could sense nen as well as them.
Both boys quickly glanced at each other before staring at the two people that are so called Floor Masters. The sounds got a little quieter but continued to be extremely loud, luckily they could finally understand each other a little bit. "Killua, who's is that?" Gon asked his white haired friend.
"I-it's c-c-coming from her." Killua stuttered. Killua never stuttered, never. The only time her stuttered was the first time he saw Gon's true ren power and when he used to be under the control of his father and brother. It's been years since that has happened, and ever since then, Killua stuttered once, only because he was talking to a pretty girl. Him stared at the frightened Killua but Killua noticed and shook him to pay attention to the match because something big was about to happen.
Gon tore his gaze away from his friend and to the person his father mar many years ago. She was just attacked by some kind of explosion that the man, Ukasi, had just created. The crowd erupted like a volcano and once again, no one could hear themselves think. While the smoke was clearing everyone waited intently to see what had happened. This ref was not awarding points just yet.
Out of no where, the ref yelled something. "Clean hit. 10 points to Kuma Imia. 20 seconds for Ukasi to stand before it's a K.O." Not one person expected that because she was just attacked by Ukasi but while everyone's attention was on the smoke, Kuma stood next to a knocked out man of the age of 30 something. For once, for a split second, the crowd was silent. Anyone could hear a coin drop in this silence until the lions roared again.
"5. 4. 3. 2. 1. KO!" The crowd yelled with the timer counting down. Neither Gon nor Killua could believe it, floor masters were supposed to be crazy strong, and this girl their age just won in less than 7 minutes.
"Kuma Imia has won this match. She now moves up from Floor Master number 6 to Floor Master level number 4. Congratulations! Kuma, any words you'd like to say?" The announcer asked.
"Well, I'm just glad I won and have so many supporters out there. So whomever is next in line," she paused a smile with a dark aura coming off, "bring it on." The crowd cheered as Kuma Imia walked away and people began giving their lost bets to the winning bets and others exited the building. Kurapika had a match soon but Gon, Leorio, and Killua knew he'd win so it didn't matter if they went or not. Although, Gon's first priority was to meet Kuma and Killua's first priority, was to see just how strong he could become. Leorio wanted to get an autograph so he could brag to a bunch of people. Master Wing and Zushi had bid their goodbyes because they needed to train for the match that would happen one day between Kuma and himself.
Gon, Killua, and Leorio walked slowly as the retreating crowd moves an inch ever five minutes. It was still unbelievably loud in the area but non of the wanted to speak so it didn't matter.
After what felt like an hour of pushing through the crowd, the three young men made it out and recollected themselves. "So, was that something or was that something?" Leorio laughed loudly. "Man, that was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. And I once saw a bag, the size of me, full of money."
Gon and Leorio chuckled while Killua rolled his eyes with a smile on his face. "So, how are we supposed to find this Kuma girl?"
"You said my name?" All three boys jumped out of their socks and faced the voice. It was a young girl around the age of 17 and she was familiar. Gon was the first to noticed exactly who it was.
"Y-you're Kuma Imia."
She laughed and nodded, "That's me." Kuma eyed Gon and tilted her head to the side, she was shorter than both 17 year old boys but she got close to Gon, grabbed his face, and titled it around like she was scanning him. "Why do you look so familiar?"
Kuma was puncturing Gon's checked when he tried saying, "Becwase Ima Jeans son." She let go and ushered Gon to say it again. Gin rubbed his now sore cheeks from her iron grip, "Because I'm Ging's son, I'm Gon Freecss." Kuma's eyes widened and she smiled.
"So Old man Ging really did have a son? You know, he talked about you quite a bit a few months ago when I ran into him. Funny story, he told me you grew taller than him and now I see it. You are definitely a good but taller than him." Kuma laughed.
"Anyways, let's start over. Hi, I'm 17 year old Kuma Imia. And you are?"
