Chapter Seven: Children in the dark

Kay Lee and Dakota woke up in the middle of the night to a deep pounding and screaming. But..... Kay Lee recognized the voice. It was Kora! After the children had gotten lost, and they thought they had found Kora and Rain dead, but the faces had been eaten off, Dakota and Kay Lee found a tiny house to sleep in.... And then Kay Lee heard barking, Tank was alive too! Hopefully Rain was too... Kay Lee opened the door, and her sister rushed inside, carrying Rain on her back. Tank rushed in after them, jumping on Dakota. Kora set Rain down on a couch, and ran to Kay Lee hugging her. "Oh my god Kora! We thought you girls were dead! Thank the Lord your alive!" Kay Lee wrapped her arms around Kora and burst out crying. "These guys took us.... their coming.... we have to leave this town!" Kora stumbled on her words while she cried. 

They grabbed the backpack, and Dakota had Rain get on her back, and then they left the house. On their way out of town they found a car that had gas in it, after they had hotwired in they got in and drove all the way to three towns over, to Jackleson Ville. "This town is good, it has a forest we can hide in." Dakota said, getting out of the car after they had driven deep into the forest. They found a cabin deeper into the woods and walked inside. Inside the little cabin there was cans of soup and vegetables, bottles of water, and dust everywhere. Dakota started coughing, "nobody has been here in a while..."  "You're right... but theres food, and water, we should clean this place up and stay here." Kay Lee said, as she got a towel from her backpack and started wiping down counters. Finally everyone was back.... they fell asleep in the living room after they had eaten a few cans of chicken noodle soup.
