She felt his rough hands graze her back and she smiled up at him. She felt him tracing her burn marked and it made her feel insecure.

"Please don't touch them," her words were soft and he pulled her closer. He placed a soft kiss on her head.

"I'm sorry," he said softly looking at her in his arms, he looked at the clock an the opposite wall and sighed.

"I have to get going, I promised Danny that we could work on the restaurant." He pulled on his pants and shirt.

"Gen, can I ask you not to tell people, it's just me and Cath, we're trying again." she looked at him in disbelief, thinking he was joking but when he left without kissing her goodbye she knew that they had just royally fucked up.

She sat back on her bed, her duvet covering her naked body and she frowned.

Was I just a distraction?

Am I just a distraction?

Did I mean anything to him?

At all?

She climbed out of the bed looking at herself in her full length mirror, tears streaming down her body. She looked at every detail on her body. Her freshly colored hair, her blue eyes, her pale skin, her small frame, her flat stomach and her scars. Oh the scars.

I'm not good enough.

Her phone rang and showed an unknown number, she answered formally thinking it could have been one of her interviewers.

"Gennifer speaking,"

"Hey Gen it's Junior. I was wondering if you were interested in going to lunch with me," she looked at her phone odly but smiled nonetheless.

"Yeah, that'll be nice. Where should I meet you?"

"How about Kamekona's at two?"

"Sure, see you then. Bye"

"Bye,"

She closed the cab door waving the driver off. She saw Junior walking towards her and she smiled at him. He hugged her and lead her to a table.

"Hi there," Junior smiled sitting down across from her at the table.

"Hey," she felt awkward about meeting up with him. She felt like she was betraying Steve, but he felt nothing for her and she knew that.

"Hello miss Pretty-Pretty, can I get you your usual?" Kamakona asked standing next to the table, his eyes secretly asking her why she wasn't here with Steve, like usual.

"Yes please, Junior what do you want?" she asked politely placing her hands on the table.

"Yeah, I'll have the same, please," he smiles in confusion when Kamakona and Gen, shared a smirk.

"Coming right up."

They shared light conversation steering clear of the subject of Steve. She tried her best not to ask too personal questions. Junior was an absolute gentleman and ate every last bite of the food even when she could see it was way too spicy for him.

"So, I wanted to ask you about you and Commander Mcgarrett." Gen took a sip of her water directing her eyes at her rings.

"Uhm, what do you want to know?" she looked into Junior's eyes and saw his curiosity.

"How long were you two together?"

"We weren't, we were infatuated with each other for almost a year when I got, you know kidnapped." Junior grabbed her hand over the table and she flinched away. She realized what she did and grabbed his hand again.
