One by one they all hop out of the van, breathing in the fresh mountain air. They are surrounded by fresh, green trees and amazing wildlife. A pure, white butterfly lands gently on Eddie's hand, Richie stares at him. So soft with such a gentle creature, Eddie lets out a soft smile looking down at the butterfly. He then looks up at Richie, looks him right in the eyes and gives him the most subtle but genuine smile. Bright, golden specks shimmering in Eddie's eyes, at that moment he knew... He loves Eddie Kaspbrak. Richie feels his heart flutter and his stomach filling with a million butterflies just like the one on Eddie's hand, he wants him, he wants to cuddle up with him, wake up next to him every morning, and most of all, call him his.

"Okay so, there are two rooms with double beds, and a room with a bunk and two single beds" Stanley tells everyone, he doesn't really care where he ends up. Just not the bottom bunk, ever since he was young, he's always been afraid of it breaking and crushing him.

"I'm having my own room" Beverly demands and everybody agrees, they'd all be uncomfortable sharing with her. Except Ben, it would be his dream come true.

"I'll have top bunk" Stanley runs to the room and throws his stuff on the bed.

"I'll g-go under S-s-stan" Bill follows him to the room.

"Bags the double bed, I need room for Eddie's mum-" Richie jokes.

"SHUT IT RICHIE, THAT'S DISGUSTING. I'm having a single bed" Eddie storms off.

"I'll share with Richie" Mike suggests, because Ben has already set up on the other single bed. Richie is kinda annoyed, he wanted to share with Eddie but noooo, he HAD to be complicated and choose a single bed. Now Eddie is in a room full of boys and Richie has to share with Mike. It's not like he doesn't like Mike, it's just that he doesn't feel like they're close enough to already be sharing a bed. Oh well, maybe he can make Eddie jealous.

They all meet in the lounge room after getting set up at 2:30pm, Ben and Mike sit on the floor. Bev sits on a single seated couch, Richie, Bill and Eddie sit on a small three seated couch with Eddie in the middle and Stanley stands in front of them all.

"So, We only have a few hours left of sun. I had the idea that we could go to the river for a bit then come down and make dinner. It's only a five minute walk and it's super nice" Everybody agrees with Stanley's idea and goes to get in bathers and easy clothes to take off. They all meet up again outside the cabin and get ready to go.

Eddie is walking up the front talking to Bill, every time they laugh Richie gets a bit more furious.

'I want to speak to him, if only Bill got distracted somehow' He thought to himself, hoping that all of a sudden something big happens and he can talk to Eddie. But nothing happens and they arrive at the river. The water is pretty clear but it's also kind of foggy from the sand getting pushed around. They all drop their stuff on their towels and run in, Eddie coated himself in layers of sunscreen before they left, just in case. Once they're all in Richie has the bright idea to swim down and grab Eddie's feet. He screams extremely loud and starts flailing around, nearly kicking Richie in the face. He swims back up and starts laughing before he sees the pure panic in Eddie's eyes and starts to realise he's finding it difficult to breath.

"HELP! SOMETHING BIT ME! SOMETHING BIT ME! I'M GOING TO DIE" Eddie screams.

Richie wraps his arms tightly around Eddie trying to calm him down.

"ED'S IT WAS JUST ME, I GRABBED YOUR FOOT" Richie assures him. The smaller boy holds onto him for dear life before suddenly freezing and furrowing his eyebrows. It takes him a second to process before he starts hitting Richie.

"YOU DICK WAD, I HATE YOU! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT" Those words stab through Richie's heart like a spear. "I hate you" He lets go of Eddie and stares at him. Eddie huffs and swims away, paddling next to Beverly. Richie goes underwater trying to calm down, he lets a tear escape his eye only because he is in water and nobody could tell. Why was this even affecting him this much? He didn't actually mean it, right?

Richie swims out of the River and lays on his towel, he doesn't want to swim anymore. It's too draining. Eventually he falls asleep, toes buried in the sand and his curly locks resting on the dark blue towel. He took his glasses off and gently placed them next to him. His dreams aren't very action packed, just the boring old Bowers haunting him whenever he sleeps.

Richie wakes up to Stanley nudging him with his foot, he puts his glasses on and notices everything is pink and orange. The light shines on everyone making them glow orange, but Eddie.. Oh damn, it makes him look like a pure gold slab with legs and perfect hair. Richie slowly gets up, still groggy from just waking up. He grabs all his stuff and slowly follows behind everyone who are already walking up the trail. Everything seems so blurry and messed up, he isn't fully conscious yet.

They finally arrive back at the cabin, everybody crowds in the living room before retreating back to their rooms. Stanley and Bill start to cook a big stew for everyone and Richie goes to shower without telling anyone, he doesn't really see the point in it. Once he gets into the bathroom he looks at himself in the mirror as he gets undressed, it's not weird, just a habit. His clothes are spread across the bathroom floor. He mostly keeps his glasses on when showering so he can actually see what he's using. He turns the taps and it becomes very hot, burning his skin, he turns the cold a bit more until it's the perfect temperature.

After about a minute of peaceful bliss and washing himself clean he remembers what Eddie said to him in the river, anger, sadness, regret and frustration builds up inside him and he punches the wall. The second he does it a few tears rolled down his face and Eddie walks in, watching his fist plummet into the hard tile wall, leaving small red marks on it. Richie looks at him in shock, they both stare at each other for about thirty seconds before Eddie finally speaks.

"What the hell was that?" He seems to be completely brushing past the fact Richie is butt naked.

"Knock much" Richie glares at him, he can't explain himself. Especially not to Eddie. The smaller boy grabs a towel out of the cupboard and steps closer to Richie, he leans over and turns off the taps, sending cold shivers through Richie. He wraps the taller boy in a towel and holds him close, walking him back to his room.

Ben isn't in there because he's keeping Beverly company. Eddie closes the door behind them and makes Richie sit on the bed. Then going through his draws and getting him out boxers, sweatpants and a white shirt. He walks back over and hands it to Richie.

"Here, put these on. Then I'm bandaging up your knuckles" Richie stands up and drops his towel, not thinking. Eddie's eyes go wide open and his jaw drops. He looks at the taller boy up and down slowly. Admiring his perfect figure, pale skin occasional freckle. He does this for about ten seconds before clicking back into reality and leaving the room.

"Call me when you're done" He says through the door, face as red as a tomato.

Richie freaks out on the inside, why did he do that? Eddie saw him naked twice, the second time was his fault! He quickly got dressed and called Eddie as he sat back on the bed. Eddie walks in and sits next to him, opening his fanny pack and getting the stuff he needs to disinfect Richie's wounded knuckles and bandage them up. Once it was done Eddie felt like he should ask now.

"So.. Why did you, y'know, punch the wall?" Eddie asks quietly.

"U-um.. I.. I felt bad" Richie doesn't really know what he should say. 'I am head over heels in love with you and when you said you hated me, I cracked' Hah, as if.

"Why did you feel bad?"

"Because.. You said you hated me and I put you into panic" Richie starts to fiddle with his fingers and Eddie looks up at him with the sweetest expression on his face.

"Aw no Rich, I don't actually hate you. I was just panicked and wasn't thinking straight" Richie never things straight.

Hearing this made Richie feel better, he still felt bad but he felt much better. Now he feels stupid for overreacting, dumb emotions. He looks down at his feet and doesn't reply.

"Rich, you're my best friend in the whole galaxy. I could never ever hate you, and please, please! Never hurt yourself again, no matter how upset you are, it doesn't end well" Eddie places his hand on Richie's knee reassuringly. Richie looks Eddie in the eyes, he doesn't know if he's overthinking or not thinking at all but he places his hand on the smaller boy's jaw and leans down to kiss him.
