Pats POV
I tiredly pour myself a cup of coffee, the steam danced around the dark, caffeinated liquid. I lazily put the coffee pot back on it's machine before slowly bringing the white mug to my lips, taking a sip.
"AH-"
I hissed, taking a sharp breath in, bringing my free hand to my lips before hearing a familiar voice enter the room.
"morning." Paul walked in, draging his feet, and giving a lazy wave before plopping himself done in one of the foldable chairs at the also foldable table.
"oh hey" I said with a tired smile before walking over, and sitting across from him. I sat straight up with my hands cupped nicely around the warm mug, while Paul sat slouched, his elbow and forearm propping his head up as he scratched his chin stubble.
"sleep well?" I asked, hoping to make small talk.
"nope, my alarm was fucking acting up and kept going off at random times, plus it's on the ceiling so i can't really... reach it. it's been happening for a wh-"
"Paul."
"Yeah?"
"were you smoking in your room?"
"..."
"..."
"yes"
"Paul that's a fucking smoke alarm you dunce"
I shook my head, rolling my eyes with a small smile of disbelief.
"oh." Paul glared at the table in realization, scratching the side of his head.
The small soldier, Yuu, walks into the kitchen, his eyes lighting up when he spots Paul and I.
"hey!"
He quickly scurried over, pulling a chair up and sitting with us on Pauls side of the table.
"Hey" Paul and i said in sync, him with a tired tone, and i with a smile.
Yuu looked at my hair, squinting before leaning over the table and gently picking something from it, and flicking it away.
"what was th-"
"you had lint in your hair"
"oh" I said before cautiously blowing into my cup, expecting it to cool from that somehow. I take a sip and notice Paul looks a bit irritated, i assume the reason being because he had just woken up.
Eventually, I finish my coffee and give a short sigh. I stand up, pushing my chair in. I give a small wave to the guys before exiting the room.
