Chapter 11

3 days have gone by and I haven't said a word to Jack. I still didn't know what to make of it. I know I don't feel the same way he obviously feels, but I didn't exactly hate it. I told JJ and Tessa right away when I got into my room that night because they had heard the entire encounter behind the door.

*Flashback*

I slink my way through the door and shut it quickly resting against the door. I look at JJ and Tess who both look like they are about to burst with laughter. I put a finger to my lips and listen to Jack who was still outside the door.

"Dammit Jack, way to go." I hear him walk away until I can't hear anymore footsteps.

I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding and walked over to my bed and plopped down on it.

"I..uh..gotta go..uh..." JJ snorts and mocks me.

"I was not expecting that," I defend myself.

"Clearly, apparently he wasn't expecting that response," Tessa said, "You sure know how to let a guy down easy don't you?" She continues laughing.

*End Flashback*

Thankfully Stone hasn't had us do any group presentations again. We've been working on solos and they start today and continue onto next week. So I don't have to worry about the awkwardness of working in a group with him.

As I skate around I let the music lead me along. It takes me a while to notice someone is watching me from the gallery. I see him watching me and can tell that he knows that he is busted. I cross my arms over my chest and tap the toe of my skate on the ice silently expecting an explanation from him. He drops his head in defeat and gets up from his seat and heads over to the door leading to the stairs to the rink. I watch as Bennett walks down the stairs and I skate over to him as he approaches the Zamboni entrance to the ice.

"What are you doing here?" I ask.

"Hiding?" He responds unsurely.

"It's 6:30 in the morning! There is no way you are hiding already," I accuse him.

"You're right. I was watching you," He admits.

"Why?"

"Because I'm creepy and like to stalk random girls," he says sarcastically.

"Halarious," I roll my eyes, "Now what's the real reason?"

"It's interesting. I've never really seen anything like it," He says.

"Okay..."

"Seriously! The way you move and do those tricks is crazy! I could never DREAM of doing something like that."

"Thanks"

"How long have you been doing this?"

"I started skating when I was 3."

"And you are...?"

"I'm 18."

He whistles, "That's a long time. How'd you get started?"

"Well my dad played hockey all his life and played in college, but mainly it was my brother who got me interested."

"Matt?"

"What about Matt?" I ask confused.

"Isn't Matt your brother?"

"Oh! No he was my brother's best friend. So I mean I guess I could consider him my brother."
