Chapter 5

Bennett's POV

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP! (Slam of a hand on the alarm clock)

I open one eye to a pitch black room. The clock reads 5:30 a.m. I groan and throw an arm over my eyes. I hate getting up this early but early mornings are the only time when I can run and not be bombarded with fans. I reluctantly sit up and turn on the bedside lamp that is made out of a bong, that Marcus had given me for one of my birthdays. I rub my eyes for a moment, then get out of bed and head over to my dresser and pull out shorts and a t-shirt and put them on. I shuffle my way to the bathroom and splash water on my face and then brush my teeth. Once I finished, I grabbed my iPhone and keys and headed out the door.

As I step outside I feel like I am going to drown just by breathing in this air. Somewhere in the distance I can hear a saxophone playing. Who does that this early in the morning? I stretch out my legs for a couple of minutes and then put in my headphones and begin jogging around campus. I figure I will give myself another tour while running and actually pay attention, now that I don't have to listen to the headmaster drone on about everything about the school. Looking around at my surroundings the school doesn't seem so bad. There is a tree that looks perfect for me to climb and lounge on the branch from. Like some romantic character from a cartoon. About midway through the run my music just stops. I look down at my phone and see that it died. Perfect. I still have another 2 miles left in my run when I see lights on at the ice rink.

Curious, I walk into the rink and head up to the gallery. When I look down I see her. She's just skating around the ice in big loops. Why the hell is she skating at 6: 30 in the morning? I grabbed a chair and sat down to watch her. The rest of my run can wait. Creepy, I know. As she skates around she keeps doing these unbelievably crazy jumps. Over and over and over again. She lands them perfectly every time, but as she continues on her body language shows that she gets more and more frustrated. She finally moves on from jumping after the millionth time, and begins doing some spins. She visibly relaxes when she first begins to spin. She hits all these crazy positions as she is spinning around and just watching her is making me dizzy. As she continues on with the spins I see her start to tense up with frustration again. She abruptly stops during this one spin and just shakes her head. She pauses for a moment and then kisses 2 of her fingers and raises them above her head, just like she did yesterday. Then she skates off the ice and heads into one of the hallways leading to the locker rooms. Since I don't want her to know I was pretty much stalking her, I'm going to make my exit now before she comes out.

The last leg of my run is rough to say the least. I broke my momentum when I stopped to watch that girl. Who still hasn't given me her name! By the time I finish its 8:30 and I stop by the cafeteria to pick up a coffee and something to eat, and happen to see Alex and Jared sitting at a table eating breakfast. Marcus is nowhere to be seen. Surprise, surprise.

I stroll up to them and ask, "Marcus still sleeping?"

"You even have to ask? It's not even noon yet. We probably won't be seeing him until 3," Jared replied as he shoved a bite of French toast into his mouth.

Typical for him, I chuckled. I'll be right back, I'm gonna go get a breakfast burrito and a coffee! I said as I walked toward the breakfast line. Mouth full of food, he nodded and gave me a thumbs up. The line for a burrito is enormous and I am wishing I would have gotten my coffee first. As the line slowly creeps forward I look around the cafeteria. I glance over to the coffee stand and see her there paying for a drink and some type of pastry. Damn it, I definitely should have went for the coffee first.

"What can I get for ya, hun?" The lady behind the counter asked me.

I turn away and look at her, "Huh? Oh, can I get a bacon burrito?" I turn back to the coffee stand, but she's gone and nowhere to be seen. The lady hands me my burrito and I give her a twenty and walk away towards the coffee stand.

"Just a black coffee." I tell the barista. She hands me the coffee and I just toss her a five and head back over to the table where both guys are almost done with their food.

"Guys! What happened to waiting for me?"

"I tried to, but you were taking way too long and I wasn't about to let perfectly good food go cold," Jared whined.

"I didn't even try," Alex snickered.

"Whatever, but now you have to stay here now until I am done."

"You eat like you are in an eating contest anyways, so it doesn't really matter to us."

That is true. I practically inhaled my burrito. When I looked back up at Jer he still hadn't even finished his last couple of bits.

"See what I mean! You are a complete animal when it comes to eating. My mother taught you better than that!"

Jared and Marcus' mom is legitimately the best mom on this entire planet. I practically lived there growing up. My parents were always out of town on business trips, so I always stayed with my aunt, aka Jared and Marcus' mom.

"Is your mom here right now?" I ask knowingly

"Well no, but..."

"Well what your momma don't know, won't hurt her. Now will it Jer?" I know I have him defeated.

"Now finish your breakfast, so we can head back to the rooms. I need to shower."

"Yeah you do. You reek, even the plants are dying around you," He said as he shoved his last bit of food into his mouth.

I look around and one plant is a little wilted, but I know it's not because of me.

"Stop being such a drama queen, and let's go man. We've got things to do today. We can even wake Marcus up, because you know he is going to want to troll on all the girls he can as they start showing up."

"Or maybe we should just give him some horse tranquilizers and do save him the embarrassment. We'd really be doing a favor to both him and the fine ladies of this school," said Alex grabbing his bag as he stands.

"That is a valid point, my good friend," I chuckled as we made our way back to the rooms. Let move in day begin.
