A loud thud sounded on the other side of the door. Then another. And another.

Someone was either really excited or angry.

If they weren't angry, the person inside the room was going to be soon. You see, Roman was sleeping. And when he slept, he did not like to be woken up. But when he was, he would be in a bad mood for the rest of the day.

But it didn't seem like whoever was knocking cared that they would have to deal with a grumpy Roman. They just continued to bang on the door. Luckily he locked it before he went to bed.

Usually he would wake up early with an alarm, since it was Tuesday and they had school. But he and his friends all agreed to skip school just for today. The rest probably thought they could still wake him up early. They were surely mistaken if Roman had anything to say about it.

It was the first of October, so yesterday (September 30th) he knew that with the Halloween season starting his friends would immediately go crazy. He was wrong about one thing though. He believed a locked door could keep his friends out.

On the other side of the door, Cat had stopped knocking. She knew it was no use. Even if she did wake him up with her loud knocks, Roman still wouldn't open the door. But she knew who would. Roman's sister!

She ran downstairs, her dress with spider and web designs that went down to her knees was flowing behind her in her haste. The sound of her running into a wall made Jason jump and drop a pancake he was about to place on a plate. The pancake was obviously pumpkin flavored and the plate had little pumpkin pictures on it.

Jason has dirty blonde hair and grey/blue eyes. His shirt was also in the holiday theme. A short-sleeve, grey shirt with Jack Skellington and Sally on it.

He had just finished cooking the pumpkin pancakes when he heard the loud thump of Cat's body hitting the kitchen wall. "Oh my god! Are you okay?" He asked, running to her.

"Yeah," she groaned. With Jason's help, she stood back up. "Sorry. I guess I lost my footing. Do you know where Jordyn is? Roman's door is locked."

Jason rolled his eyes. "Of course he did," he muttered. "She should be with Nick outside. They're still setting up the fake spider webs."

"Thanks!" She exclaimed in gratitude before running out of the kitchen and front door. It's like she didn't learn her lesson from her previous fall.

"Jordyn! Jordyn!" A girl with light brown hair—partially covered with a black beanie—was unpacking a box of what looked to be fake spiders. Her clothing was also festive, but more subtle. Just black ripped jeans, an orange tank top, black leather jacket, and a pair of orange converse. She looked up to see the blonde girl running towards her.

"Cat? What's up?" She asked.

"Roman locked his door. I need you to pick it," Cat explained, only slightly out of breath.

Jordyn shrugged. "Okay," she agreed easily. "Hey Nick!" She turned to call to her other friend. Suddenly a young man with black hair and dark-ish skin appeared from the corner of the house. He was dressed in a skeleton jacket, a dark pair of jeans, and some boots. In his hands were a bunch of tangled webs.

"Yeah?" He questioned.

"I'm going to break into Roman's room. So bye," Jordyn said.

"Oh okay. Bye!" He bid farewell. Then he saw Cat. "Hey Kitty! Want to help me with these webs?" He asked with a smile.

Cat giggled at his pet name for her. "Sure!" She ran over to him, leaving Jordyn to break into Roman's room by herself.

On her way inside she rolled her eyes. "Lovebirds," she said to herself with fake annoyance. They were actually cute together, so she didn't mind if Cat or Nick bailed every once in a while to be alone with each other. The two were always having to deal with their sh*t, so they deserved some sort of calm.
