October 3rd! We're gonna skip the school day since that's all boring. (Schools important, I'm just kidding! It's just not essential for this chapter. It wasn't essential for the last one either, but too late now.)

It was Nick's day to choose what the group did, and he chose Halloween decorating. They already decorated Jordyn and Roman's house, so today Nick decided they would do Cat's house. He would've done his own, but his parents wanted it to be a 'family bonding opportunity'. So his house would have to wait.

They all decided in the group chat that they would just meet at Cat's house since a few had other things going on after school. Jordyn had to make up a test, and no one wanted to wait half an hour for her at school. Roman and Jackson were auditioning for the year's play the theatre department was producing, so they would take a while.

Skipping to less than an hour later, Nick and Cat were already at her house. They had taken the same car in the morning, so Nick just drove them to her house after school. With getting there early, they had plenty of free time to themselves.

So they did what any teenage couple would do when they were alone. They went into her room and made out.

Nick was sitting up, leaning his back on the headboard with Cat straddling his lap. They had their clothes on, but that didn't stop either's wandering hands.

He had just unzipped the back of her dress when they heard the sound of the doorbell. He pulled back from the kiss with a groan. "Dammit," he muttered under his breath.

Cat only giggled at his reaction. "We should let them in."

"Or, we could tell them to leave," Nick suggested hopefully.

"No, that's mean. Now zip up my dress," she ordered kindly. He did what she said and earned one last kiss on the lips before she stood, while grabbing his hand to pull him up as well, and went downstairs to open the door.

Opening the door, Roman, Jordyn, Jason, and Jackson (yeah, that's a lot of J's. Just noticed that) were on the other side. Roman had his arm over Jason's shoulders, everyone except Jason still had their backpacks on. He had finished all his homework while waiting for his boyfriend and friend and acquaintance.

They had a fun time with Jackson yesterday, so they invited him to hang out with them again.

"Hey guys! Come on in!" Cat greeted, stepping back to let all of them in. They dropped their bags by the door for later.

Nick was already sitting on one of the couches in the living room. Roman and Jason sat next to him on one side. Jordyn and Jackson sat on the other couch, but close to each other. Cat joined them after closing the door, sitting next to Nick, whom immediately grabbed her hand in search for some physical contact. Even if it was just holding hands.

"So what's the plan?" Jackson asked.

"I was thinking half of us could decorate the outside, while the other three take care of the inside," Nick proposed.

Roman nodded. "Sounds good. Cat, you still have that box of webs with the gravestones and stuff, right?"

"Yep. It's in the garage labeled as 'Spooky'," she answered.

"Great. I call leading the outsiders since none of you have any sense of style other than Cat," Jason stated as it was a well known fact.

Cat flipped her hair back in a mockingly stuck up way. "Why thank you. He's right, so I'll be leading the insiders if we're also going by his name terms."

"I'll be outside with Jay," Roman said.

"Today's a beautiful day. I'll join you two out there," Jackson told them.

"Guess that means you two and I are stuck inside," Jordyn grumbled to Cat and Nick.

Nick shrugged. "Fine with me. I'm still with Cat, so that's all that matters right now."

Cat 'aw'ed at his words. "Aw! You're literally the sweetest person I've ever met," she squealed before kissing him. Nick gave a content smile as his pulled back from the kiss to give her hug.

"Jackson, switch with me," Jordyn ordered, but Jackson shook his head. "Fine. Guess I'll just be a third wheel again."

"I'll be a third wheel too, don't worry," Jackson assured her. But she just stuck her tongue out at him. He retaliated with the same attack before standing up. "Have fun!"

Roman offered to get the box of decorations from the garage, so that left Jason and Jackson to walk outside together.

"So since you're our leader, what were you thinking for this?" Jackson asked.

"Cat has a lot of gravestones for some reason. She buys a new one every year to add to the collection for Halloween decorations. So probably a spooky graveyard," Jason explained, looking around the front yard as he tried to picture how everything would go. "There should also be a skeleton somewhere in there. We could take it apart and place them at different stones like they're coming out of the ground."

Jackson nodded. He could see it working really well. "That sounds great. It's gonna look amazing." And maybe he could get to know Roman's boyfriend better so it wouldn't be as awkward when they were all together.

Cat and Jordyn were searching through their box of decorations. Nick was off to the side taking the things that the two girls deemed good for use and putting them on the coffee table.

"Oh my god, this is so cute," Cat commented as she held up a small cloth ghost on a string.

"Are there more?" Jordyn asked, already searching for more of good quality.

"Yeah. We could hang these up everywhere. It would be so cute."

"Nick, we might need you to buy some more decorations," Jordyn said.

"Yeah," Cat agreed. "Like a spooky picture or a black cat figure. Ooh, a witch statue thing that makes sound when you move by it. The cat thing can go outside next to the pumpkin, though, so that's for the outsiders."

Nick nodded. "Sure, but you guys need to come with me. I'm not going alone. Plus you'll probably have new ideas while I'm gone and want me to get more things," he chuckled.

"You're not wrong. Deal," Cat agreed, leaning up to give him a quick kiss before grabbing a piece of paper to write all of their ideas down.

"You know what would be fun? If we got the orange construction paper and made like small pumpkins that we could put on the walls," Jordyn suggested.

Cat loves that idea. "Yes! Let's do that after we put up these adorable ghosts. Then we can all go to the store real quick to get the extra decorations and paper."

"This is going to be awesome!"
