First of all, I would like to thank you for getting this book. My name is Jorge Calvillo, and I am very passionate about sales. Everything in life revolves around selling. Whether you're selling a car or asking that pretty woman on a date. I've worked with several companies such as Art Van Furniture and AT & T. I have acquired some skills which I'm going to share with you in regards to selling. You are probably asking "Who is Jorge, and what has he sold that makes him credible to write a book about sales?" That is an excellent and fair question. The answer is not a direct one. Firstly, I would like to establish that all I'm doing here is sharing some valuable skills. Many of these skills I have learned through incredibly effective sales managers. These skills that I have acquired have allowed me to close many deals in my various sales jobs. In addition, I have formed my own sales jobs, including the creation of a catering company where I sold tacos with my father and a forming of a small vending machine business where I had to start from the ground up. Overall, I have 15 years of sales experience. I have also interviewed top sales professionals in many fields, including car salesmen, real estate agents, bathroom and kitchen professionals, life insurance agents, furniture sales consultants, gym membership managers, and wireless technology sales representatives. Now, in my quest to provide you with the most value, I found myself digging to the core of what makes these professionals so successful. During our interviews we discussed various topics, such as their daily rituals, what keeps them motivated, and handling objections, to name a few. Adding to the sales professionals I've interviewed; I have also studied many popular sales authors such as, but not limited to, Anthony Robbins, Dan Lok, Tom Hopkins and Brian Tracy. I love sales and enjoy teaching the process even more.
The art of selling is crucial, because nothing in this life moves without an individual selling something to another individual first. Can you imagine if nothing was ever sold? Where would our society be? On top of that, if you're paid in commission, a sales profession can be very rewarding. This is the primary reason I want to help you obtain the skills I learned over the years. In the dictionary, "Selling" is defined as: "to give or hand over in exchange for money or persuade someone of the merits of." You can sell an idea, product or service. Whether you are selling a beautiful home or life insurance, selling yourself during a job interview or it may even be asking for a date! This short book will provide you with some very useful tips that will apply to your everyday life. The amazing world of sales grants the opportunity to meet new people, challenge yourself, and allow you to get compensated for your performance. Now, you may already be a Sales professional and have skills that work just fine. There is nothing wrong with that. I'm just going to give you some more ammunition to add to your arsenal. Is that fair enough? Great! Have you ever wondered why some people just don't want to buy? There could be so many reasons. For example, maybe they're really just shopping around, or they simply don't have the means to buy at the moment. Don't let these customers get you down. This book will help you by changing your mindset and, hopefully, get you the results you desire. I highly recommend that you read this from beginning to end so you can have a better idea of where you're at during the sales process and can act accordingly. However, if a certain tip catches your eye, you can skip right to what you need and that's fine.
Sales isn't for everybody. If you're the type of person who doesn't really like talking to new people or lacks discipline and/or motivation, sales might not be something you'll enjoy. Sales can be compared to a game of poker: it is part psychology and part skill. The reason I say sales are part psychology is because you have to read your potential prospects and really figure out where they're at in the buying process. In addition to that, skill is also required in sales because you need to know the right times to take action, similar to putting all your chips in at the poker table. When it comes to selling, being open minded will help you by matching the right personality type, which will discuss a little bit later. Ultimately, being flexible and open minded will help your customers feel more comfortable and take your word on what you're trying to offer. I'm going to ask that you be confident in what you are selling and really believe in it, because if you don't, then most likely they won't either. This is pretty powerful stuff! Many customers nowadays like someone who is knowledged in what they're talking about, and who believes in their product. Be prepared, start a foundation, and build a strong relationship with every good intention. Also, when you are genuinely looking out for your customers best interests, you will achieve maximum results. So, are you excited? Are you ready to be your best self? With a little practice and commitment, you can become the most sought out sales professional by your prospects and future referrals. Everyone has the potential to do more, and I can't thank you enough for allowing me to share my advice with you. I'm happy you have chosen to enhance your sales abilities, and I wish you the best in your sales career. As you read further, use these tips to enhance your sales performance. I know your time is valuable, and for that reason, I have divided the sales process into 7 tips which you can use at your own leisure.
