The sun shone brightly, a slight wind stirring the tree leaves. Birds sung sweet songs as they perched in their nests. The sky was a light blue, with fluffy clouds in the sky. It was a perfect day...or at least on Earth where you could find this. I, on the other hand, was not on earth, but in my underworld castle.

The volcanoes were erupting, forming new elemental dragons and fueling the forges built far underground towards the pits of Tartarus. The trees were bare, blackened skeletons and the only sounds to be heard were those of tormented souls and the howls of hellhounds.

Man those things never shut up. I thought while strolling down the hallway. Several days had past since my first meeting with Ruinë, and even though I didn't want to go back, as ruler and host I was forced to check on her.

Stupid father. He's going to end up getting us all killed over this one helpless girl. My boots echoed through the now empty hallways. All the servants were cleaning out the ballroom and study, readying for the next meeting with more war generals and lower elidhu.

I don't see why we don't just kill her and get it over with. I mean the queen elidhu will just pick a human with no experience to replace her. It would help us alot in this war. Then the light side might think we're actually serious about this.

I stopped in front of a footless hallway. The wooden floors were faded and dirty while some of the paint was peeling from the walls. Tapestries had fallen from the walls, now laying on the floor in discarded heaps.

I let out a sigh, clearing my mind. Well here goes. I quickly walked down the hall and ducked into an unseen corridor off the main hallway. The walls were blank and dirty, with no doors all along the length of it.

I stopped right in the middle of the hallway, facing the blank wall. My lips quickly chanted a spell, and a loud crack echoed through the corridors. Before me was a door, carved with the symbols of ancient languages and terrors that had been long forgotten by most. The brass doorknob squeaked slightly as it was turned. I pulled the door with all my strength, seeing as though it was over three times my weight for some odd reason.

Maybe this time she won't be quite as violent and cross as last time. I thought, taking a deep breath. I poked my head in, looking around the now empty room. Strange. She should be here. There isn't any way for her to escape. I pondered scratching my head. The door closed as I stepped into the room. My eyes darted around the room, searching for her. A sudden, soft rustle caught my attention. I spun around on my heels and drew my sword from its sheath. Metal clashed and echoed all through the room. As I looked up I met Ruinë's burning eyes. They reflected an anger and wildness that somewhat startled me.
