My eyes fluttered open to be greeted with dim lamplight. I sat up slowly, reaching my hand up to my head. Fingers gingerly brushed again the large bump near the back of my skull, causing me to flinch.
What happened? I wondered, looking around the room. I was sitting on a plush, queen sized bed with black silk sheets. It was a large room with a high arching ceiling. The walls were painted a deep red with black trim and accents. Near the west wall there were several large bookcases filled to the brim with books and a small sitting area complete with a couch and two chairs. The east wall had a dresser with a mirror attached to the back, wardrobe, and desk all organized. The more I looked around the more I realized that there were no windows, or doors for that matter, save one on the east wall beside the desk.
I swung my feet onto the cold floor and stood up. My now loose hair fell around my shoulders and my dress swished as I quickly walked over to the door. Please let this be a way out. I silently begged. My hang grabbed the knob and yanked the door open. My heart sunk as I looked into the bathroom that lay behind it, and I quietly walked back over to the bed in defeat.
"Where in the name of all things good am I!?" I exclaimed angrily. This can't be anywhere in the light elidhu realm because I've never seen anything like it before. DARN IT!! It would be my luck to get captured. A creak sounded behind me followed by a loud bang. I turned quickly as I could to see the last of what looked like a door closing.
"Well well well. What do we have here?" asked a calm voice. I turned quickly to look towards the voice, but nothing was there. "You seem a bit jumpy, don't you?" It whispered in my ear, it's hot breath hitting against my neck.
My instincts kicked in and I punched as hard as I could in the direction of the voice. Everything was a blur to me in the heat of the moment. At the last second a hand reached out to grab my wrist in a strong grip. I looked up to be met with two pure white eyes and a smirk.
"Hello Ruinë," he said, his hand still holding my wrist.
"Ungwalë, I should have known," I growled, pulling away from him. He let go of my wrist as I pulled back and stood up from his kneeling position on the bed.
"You should be thanking me. After all I am keeping you in this nice safe room," he said, walking over to stand beside the end of the bed. I turned to glare at him.
"You might as well you piece of roadkill," I spat.
"Well if you want I can always lock you in the dungeons with other incriminated underworld beasts and let you fend for yourself," He replied coyly, leaning against one of the bedposts.
I scowled and glared at him. "I could handle myself just fine thank you very much," I growled. He locked eyes with me then raised an eyebrow.
My eyes started to wander from his because they're odd look made me uneasy.
His almost shoulder length black hair was pulled back into a low ponytail while large black horns protruded from his head. He was shirtless (because all these stupid underworld beasts think they are so amazing. -insert eye roll here- ) showing off his well toned body and the black demon tattoo covering his left shoulder and some of his eye.
He simply smirked at my remark and looked at me. "You know you're a lot smaller then I thought you would be. After all I've even battled your brother and he was a lot bigger then you," he observed, peering at me curiously as if I were a plant or animal.
I simply rolled my eyes at him, grinning ever so slightly. "Don't be fooled though. I could take you down in an instant."
He noticeably rolled his eyes at me, waving a hand like he was shooing away a dog. "Please you couldn't beat me if one of my hands were tied behind my back," he replied, obviously overconfident in himself.
"You only WISH you were that good," I grinned, raising an eyebrow. All he did was roll his eyes again at walk over to where the couch and chairs were, leaning against the high back of one of them.
"Remind me to be insulted by that later," he answered uncaring.
I sighed and ran a hand through my hair. This is getting me nowhere... I need to find out what he's going to do with me and why he captured me in the first place. I looked over at him to find him looking at me curiously.
"What are you staring at?" I demanded harshly.
"Oh nothing," he said, shrugging. Had I been paying attention I might have noticed the slight red in his cheeks but it didn't even cross my mind.
"So what are you going to do with me now might I ask? Are you going to have your way with me until I am rescued of paid a ransom for and send me back scared for life like you did the other soldiers you took prisoner that we found?" I remarked, never taking my eyes off him.
He chuckled and leaned down, placing both his hands beside my hips on the mattress, our faces inches apart. "Contrary to your beliefs I am I gentleman. I wouldn't dream of doing such a thing to any of my slaves or prisoners," he stated. I blinked and in that time he moved from his place in front of me to the other side of the bed. "What my soldiers and generals do while I'm not with them is out of my control, but as long as I'm here you're safe from any rough abuse."
"Oh I feel so reassured now," I sarcastically revealed, rolling my eyes at him.
You should. My servants could do some pretty bad things if I would let them. After all a pretty face like yours isn't seen very often down here," he smirks.
"I bet you say that to every girl you come across," I say, rolling my eyes. "Anyway you wont get information out of me if that's what you want."
He chuckles while I shoot him a glare. "You think that's what we want? No! You're a hostage silly. We're using you as leverage."
"Whaa-" I said, looking at him confused. "Do you really need ME as leverage when you have all those soldiers?"
He shrugs innocently. "I'm just doing what I was told. I'm not sure why he needs you but he does."
"This is crazy! You're all crazy!" I exclaim, putting my hand on my forehead. "Great... Now I'm stuck in here with a bunch of crazy people in some crazy nuthouse. I'm probably going to go insane or get rabies or something," I mumble to myself. "Next thing you know I'll be seeing smurfs walking across my floor singing."
He huffs and rolls his eyes, So I'm guessing he heard me. "Whatever. I have more important things to do then deal with you." With that he turns around and walks over to the south wall and snaps his fingers. A loud creak echoes through the room as a crack appears in the wall. He pull on it, revealing a hallway outside the room.
I narrow my eyes and launch off the bed towards the door, and him. In a split second he's out the door and slamming it shut. My fist hits the now closed door in anger as a loud shout escapes me. Defeated, I walk back to the bed and sit down, putting my face in my hands. This is gonna be a long stay...
