Chapter 5: Like a Babe in the Woods

The next morning I had been woken up by the buzzing sound on my phone. When I saw what was on my phone made my face turn red. I can't with Jackson. He had sent me 4 photos of him and well I was embarrassed but that's how it is to be friends with Jackson I thought.

I'm just going to text him so he won't get on my nerves again. "Are you serious Jackson you woke me up from my nap" I responded. " Good morning to you too" Jackson replied. "Good morning I kinda need to text you later I'm going to be busy today". I responded. " Trying to ignore me now huh (-_-)". I just decided not to reply I'm going to see him at the academy anyway. I put on my clothes, ate a bar and headed out with my skateboard.

What I usually do is skate to my sister's house since she lives so close to the academy and leave my skateboard there and change into my uniform. I don't know why I just do it. I had skated through the park and I just felt the breeze going through my hair it felt nice. I was thinking maybe Kris would show up at the academy today. He did say we're going to see each other often now. Why do I have this weird feeling in my stomach? Do I like him?....... Nah more like disgusted by him right? I had arrived at my sister's house. I have a copy of the key so I can come in whenever I want. she's on vacation right now so I can practically own this house if I wanted to. I put my skateboard next to the Couch and quickly ran to the bathroom and changed into my uniform.

It was only a 10-minute walk to the Academy. When I arrived there was a huge crowd of people just surrounded together looking at something. I ran over to see what was going on. Apparently, someone was announcing something." Listen up people I'm only going to be saying this once. Next week we're going to be celebrating the anniversary of this academy and we need helpers on decorations, supplies and a list of how many people will arrive. Please check in with the office if you would like to volunteer thanks that's it.....Oh, wait also bring a date we're going to party!" Everyone cheered. A date? I thought this was a party where anyone can enjoy. Then suddenly someone grabbed my shoulder. "Hey thought you can ignore me ". " where are your manners, Jackson". Not going to lie he scared me a little. "Too bad no one wants to go with a monstrous tomboy," said Jessie she was with her Group. Then they started to laugh. "Well, no one wants to go with a witch either". Said Jackson. I just held my head down and smiled. "Whatever." said Jessie. She turned around and left. "Thanks, Jackson". He just smiled. The bell rang. Time for hell. Nothing much during class besides Jackson trying to distract me. We were put in a group project. Let's just say Jackson and I were put together. We had to do a poster about helping the earth. I went to go get some scratch paper when My phone buzzed and it was Kris." Hey, how is my llama doing?". "I'm in a class right now and I'm not your llama". Jackson saw that I was on my phone." Hey, Amber hurry up stop fooling around". I quickly grabbed the scratch paper and put my phone on silent mode. I started gluing when I just looked up at Jackson giving a serious weird look.

"What?" I said. "Who were you texting on your phone?". " No one important Jackson. Don't worry about it". I said. Jackson stayed silent for a while. " You know I care for your safety Amber". I just stayed quiet for a moment. "Let's talk about this later okay". He nodded and we both continue on working. Three classes have passed and I told Jackson I would meet him in the Cafeteria for lunch but I ended up going to the bathroom first to check my messages and I had 10 missed messages from Kris. Dang, he's desperate I thought. I quickly replied. " Hey sorry I'm at lunch right now". He didn't respond. Next thing I know he's calling me. "Hello". "I'm behind parked at the Academy field come here". He hung up. I ran over to the field and saw him standing. I just smiled and greeted him. " Nice car I didn't know you drive". I said.

"I'm full of surprises Little Llama. Hey, come with me". I stood there in confusion. " You mean after school right?". "No right now you have your backpack on let's go". I was just in shock. " I can't just leave. I still have classes". He went to open the passenger door then walked towards me and just grabbed me off the floor and carried me to the passenger seat. "Omg what's wrong with you put me down". He closed the door and locked it. Then he quickly went into the driver's seat. " One thing you should know is I don't take no as an answer". In the distant, I saw someone running it was Jackson. "Quickly drive". I said. " whatever you say llama". We drove off and I just saw Jackson running. I'm sorry Jackson I thought. "Hey, Amber I have something to confess to you." What is it I thought? "It's not what you think it is." He said.
