The Char-Man is the story of a boy and his father. The two had been stuck in a house during a fire in 1948, leaving the two with life-altering scars. The son went mad. He skinned and hung his father, then fled the scene. When the police located the son, he was so burned that they couldn't recognize him. The boy ran so that he wasn't held accountable for his father's murder, and disappeared. They say he still wanders California, mainly in the Ojai woods. He attempts to attack campers and fake being a hitchhiker to target innocents.
