Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week
Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week (ASAW) is a week-long holiday dedicated to spreading awareness about aromantic people, who often don't get as much recognition as other parts of the LGBTQ+ community. ASAW takes place during the week after Valentine's Day in order to remind people that not everyone feels romantic attraction the same way. During 2014, the week took place from November 10th - 17th and was called Aromantic Awareness Week. In 2015, it was changed to be the week after Valentine's Day, along with the name being changed to Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week. The name was changed so that the celebration can better include everyone on the aromantic spectrum, rather than just aromantic people.
