Chapter 33: Words of Parting (1)

9th month of the Yumas Calendar

In the back of the room Alicia, Renner, Hazel, Lucy, and Clarent were sitting in a separate table discussing their next course of action until they heard the name of who the kids are yelling.

"Clover!" [Hazel]

"Clovie!" [Lucy]

"Hmph. I knew he would be fine, he's Oliver's and Claudia's son after all." [Alicia]

Clover while hugging the kids hear the voices of his two best friends in the orphanage that he grew up with.

"Lucy, Hazel!" [Clover]

The kids move aside as they were all satisfied with Clover's hugs. Clover, Lucy, and Hazel all get into a group up which lightens up the room.

"I'm glad you guys are doing well, no injuries right?" [Clover]

"No injuries?! Clover we were so worried about you. Hazel stayed by your bedside at all times when you were out until now." [Lucy]

"L-L-Lucy! Don't tell him that!" [Hazel]

Even in this critical moment, it was satisfying for Clover to see the Hazel and Lucy were back to themselves. After he experienced the horror of what happened to Hazel and Lucy, he was not ready for the possible psychological repercussions that couldn't occurred to Lucy and Hazel.

Clover was glad that everything was going well with the two girls. Clover grimaced at the thought of the two girls getting injured, and indeed was displeased at the thought.

"Hey, Hazel. Tonight, can you walk with me to the old orphanage tonight? I wanna see the old home, just one more time." [Clover]

"Hue hue hue." [Lucy]

Lucy teases Hazel, and lets her answer.

"Uh, yeah, I'll walk with you." [Hazel]

"Great, let's get eating now, I think Alicia Renner and Clarent are waiting for us over at the table." [Clover]

Lucy and Hazel both nod their heads in agreement and head over with Clover towards the table. The kids who were once standing up and hugging Clover are now back in their seats and continuing their dinner. Alicia and Renner talk to Clover as to what was currently going on with the orphanage gone and the kids being housed in the upper floors of Ironlite.

"First off, I thank you Clarent for housing the kids." [Clover]

Clover bows towards Clarent in a full ninety-degree fashion. Clarent is baffled and slightly flustered at the fact Clover was doing this.

"No, no, no. I was just helping my friend's family. You should be thanking Lavris for keeping them alive from the initial explosion." [Clarent]

Clover turns toward priestesses Renner and Alicia for clarification but they shake their heads in rejection to that request.

"Sorry Clover, we were both unconscious by what it seems Lavris came along." [Renner]

"Lavris... Speaking of Lavris and Jason, where are they now? Do you know?" [Clover]

"They said they were cleaning up some loose ends while waiting for you to wake." [Clarent]

"Huh all right, when do you think they will be back? [Clover]

Clarent ponders at the answer to the question, Jason and Lavris are kind of mysterious in their times of arriving back to check on their boss.

"I would say late tonight?" [Clarent]
