Ugh, the start of a brand new week.

It sucks because Mitch has Lia and I really wanted to bring her to my job.

I shut off the alarm and slowly rise.

"Hey baby," Sean said, rubbing his eyes.

"Good morning boo," I smile.

"Good sleep?" He winks and rubs his bare chest.

"Yeah, like a rock," I say quietly as I yawn and glance at the sheets.

The sex was great, I'll be honest. Sean is so handsome and knows how to make me feel so good.

I go over to the closet and pick out the clothes I'll wear.

Hmm, maybe a navy pencil skirt, with a grey blouse?

"Oh, and Sean, Lia's birthday is in 2 days. So I won't be home the entire day." I say as I lay the clothes on the dresser.

"Where is the party?" Sean asks.

"At some kind of country club," I reply with a shrug

"Oh, sounds fancy," He rolls his eyes.

"Gonna go take a shower now," I say to him.

He nods and drifts back off to sleep.

Mitch's POV:

"Talia! I'll need that paper by Friday!" I yell over my shoulder.

"Yes, sir!" She replies.

I'm assistant attorny at DiSento, Anelli and Medici Law Firm. My father is John DiSento, one of the richest lawyers in New York City.

I'll take over the company, of course, when he passes, and I'll be the best.

I already AM the best.

Suddenly, my phone vibrates and i quickly check to see who it is.

It's Lauren.

"Hello?" I asked quizzically. She never calls me. Only when to come pick up Lia, and that's not until Friday.

"Hey," she says.

"Um, I'm kind of busy right now. Can you make it quick?"

I had absolutely no work to do.

"Oh. Well I just called for the address to the country club. That's all," I can sense the hurt in her voice.

"Ah, I see. Well it's 2345 Hanson Drive. Next to the Olive Garden." I tell her, reading off the invitations I had Talia print out.

I suddenly feel a pang of guilt for answering her so roughly. I want to immediately apologize, but my pride holds me back.

"Okay, thanks." Her voice is quiet.

"Okay, see you there," I say and hang up.

I'm relieved she didn't bring up the event at my house the other day. I don't even know what came over me.

I guess I was a little drunk. We did have an office party that day.

With lots of champagne.

I didn't mean to be so mean, but she deserves it. If she knew what happened to me when she left, she would come running back.

I got into so much during our seperation and divorce.

Drugs and alcohol damaged my relationships with my family and friends. I'm still surprised my dad let me work with him after all I went through.
