I woke up and stared at the peeling wallpaper of my room. It had been nearly a full month since I saw James last. "Jess. Go out. Get some air" My mum repeated over again to me, every day. I just didn't feel like it. Hah. Maybe if I had friends it would happen.
My phone started to go crazy. "Huh?" I squinted and looked at the bright screen "H-Hello?" I grumbled down the phone "Jess? Yeah just come out today? I'll be at the park" And with that he hung up. I was aware it was James, I mean, he was rubbish at disguising his voice. I rolled my eyes and got dressed. A strappy white top and a pair of denim shorts. "Mum I'm away!" I shouted. She ran from the kitchen
"What?! With who?!" She asked. I wasn't sure if she was excited or being cautious.
"Honestly. I won't be late. With James..." I shrugged and closed the door before she could give an opinion.
I made my way to the park and stopped a few metres away from the gate. James was sitting on the bench, his suntanned face and dark eyes were turned away from me. I took a breath, pushed open the gate and walked slowly towards him, my stomach was doing loops I thought we were only friends though.
"Oh Hey Jess, Didn't see you there" James stood up like a gentleman
I laughed softly "No problem, How's things stranger?" I asked sitting down On the bench beside him and smiled up at him.
"The usual.. Dishwashers and chiz' He smirked and made himself comfortable.
"Ah, I see. So, why are you out so early?" I asked "Why are WE out so early?" I was more specific.
"I thought we could watch the sun come up. You know, before people start needing us for stuff. I think they just use me to look at" He winked
We were still avoiding the topic of the kiss. I wasn't surprised though.
"That's really sweet" I nodded softly "Oh Yeah, those rock hard abs of yours, James!" I giggled.
He hesitated for a second then flexed and pulled his shirt up to reveal his abs. Woah. I didn't actually realise he had them.
"James!" I blushed and smacked his stomach "Okay.. They are hard" I rolled my eyes.
"Come on. Lets go sit up there" He pointed to a small hill. I nodded and started running
"No. I will let you win!" He walked slowly over and sat on the grass beside me. Right beside. me"Ja-" I looked at him
"Huh?" He looked at me and smiled. Uh. I can't do this anymore.
I cupped his face and kissed him. He just laughed "Okay.. What's up with you?" He smiled at me and blinked. I shook my head "Nothing. Just you're really amazing" I shrugged and looked away "Hey!" He pulled my face back and kissed me deeply "
"Well.. Uh.." I blushed.
We sat and talked for ages. It was the first time I actually opened up about everything to anyone. It was great and James did the same with me. If you count telling me what hair products he used revealing things then he opened up loads.
He smiled at me "Watch," he pointed to the skyline over the hill and sat crossed legged. I leant my head against his shoulder and he kissed my forehead.
"It's beautiful" I looked up at him.
When we finally had to go, James stood up first. He walked in silence down to my lane "Maybe I'll see you later?" he asked hopefully. I laughed softly
"I hope so" I nodded and started to walk down my lane.
"Jess?" He tugged my arm "Can I kiss you?" He asked nervously looking at the ground. I rushed back and kissed him deeply
"Okay. That should keep you going for a while" I kissed his nose. He stood there frozen.
"Oh Yeah! i'm good" He said confidently before kissing my head and walking away smiling, proud of himself. I just laughed and shook my head, as I walked into the house.
