CHAPTER 19- Love Birds

“Why were you yelling so much?” Karan asked while handing out an ice pack to Luna.
There was no response for a while. Luna was busy glaring at the other end of the room, where in a corner stood what caught her attention: Viraaj.
Karan was still ranting unaware why the ice pack had not been taken from his hand yet.
“Just take this ic-” Karan turned to see the cold expression on Luna's face. It was well, obviously scary, but thankfully it wasn't aimed at him.
The object that was the aim of Luna's glare today was already starting to profusely sweat.
“Hey! You're scaring him! ” Karan said as he threw the ice pack at Luna.
“Ouch! I'm already hurt! Do you want to send me to the hospital?”
“ Stop glaring at him!”
“What is he doing here?”
“For now, he's definitely trying to look like you're not scaring him when he's clearly sweating.”
“I.. I.. am not scared! It's just very hot. Yeah! It's very hot in here.”
“Uh huh. Karan believes you. Karan does not need your justification brother.”
“Karan” Luna now shifted her gaze towards Karan.
Viraaj let out a sigh of relief.
“Geez girl! Karan didn't do anything. Don't stare at Karan with those robot Lazer eyes! Karan doesn't want to die yet.”
“But Karan might just die if he doesn't start talking soon.” Luna said as she kept the icebag aside, standing up.
“Why are you standing up? You don't have to stand up at all. For anything. Ju..just. Just tell Karan what you need.”
“The ice has melted. I need more ice.”
“Karan will get it.Karan will get it for you. You just need to rest here.”
And with that Karan left the room hastily leaving the two people who shouldn't have been left alone together in a room, alone in a room.
“Why are you here?” Luna asked in a very annoyed tone.
“I had showed up at your place because I was looking for him, remember? ”
“Oh yeah. Why were you looking for him?”
“It- It's nothing big. Jus.. just wanted to talk to him.”
“Just wanted to talk? You came all the way here because you just wanted to talk?”
“Yea..yeah. Guy stuff.”
“Guy stuff? And you couldn't talk about it over a phone call because...”
“Oh..ha ha... How dumb am I. I totally forgot about the fact that I could've just called him.”
“Really?” Luna was sending chills down Viraaj's spine again.
“I....I...well...yea-”
“No Luna! Karan can't allow you to harass people who are  friends now! Karan wants more friends who are not you! Don't scare him anymore!”
“I wasn't scaring him!”
“You most definitely were!”
“I literally just asked him why he was looking for you! I did nothing except that!”
“You don't ask, you interrogate! ”
“What bullshit”
“It's true. You know that too. Maybe you should consider a job in the interrogation room?”
“Wha-”
“Hey! It Rhymed! Karan is going to work on his creative piece right away! Will be back soon.”
“Wait, Karan, Wai- I'm coming with you.” Viraaj desperately wanted to get away from the Luna situation.
“Nobody disturbs Karan when he is trying to be creative! Hush.” And with that Karan had shut the study room's door on their faces.
“You... Are you actually scared of me?” Luna asked, finally a little bit calmer than before.
“No no no no nope. Not at all.”
Would he have developed a crush on somebody that scared him? The chances of that happening were very low, very close to no chances at all, to be honest.
“It's just... it's, you're a little intimidating.”
“Intimidating?”
“Yeah. Like you have this presence, you know like this aura, that can send chills down one's spine at times.”
“Oh... Has that, you know, ever happened to you?”
She genuinely wanted to know. It can't be that she finally likes someone and she'll just scare that person away. Right? That'll be a total flop and definitely not what she was trying to do.
“Not really.”
“So, I did scare you! WOW, I'm brilliant.”
“No, I didn't say that.”
“Well, you meant that.”
“ No I didn't mean that either.”
“But you said ‘not really’.”
“I said not really because you haven't actually done that to me.”
“You wouldn't have added the ‘really’ if you wanted to say no.”
“No no, I always do such things.”
“Don't try to cover it up. I'm sorry. I'm such a dumbo! ”
“Hey, you're not a dumbo.”
“Why are you being so nice? Just accept my apology.”
“But you don't have to apologize.”
“I have to!”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“No.”
“Okay love birds, You can stop now. You guys are making it really hard for Karan to focus here.”
Both of their faces flushed red. Karan liked where this was heading. His plan might just come true.
“Okay love birds, Karan has created yet another masterpiece. It's just amazing. You guys will love it.”
“NO.” Luna and Viraaj said in unison.
“Oh, the love birds are in sync now huh?”
“Ca- can you stop saying that?” Luna said. Her face was as red as a tomato now.
“Say what? You are in sync? But you guys are in sync!”
“No, I don't think she was talking about that.” Viraaj said, he was just as red as Luna by now.
“What else did Karan say?”
“The birds.” Luna definitely didn't want to say that but hissed it out.
“The birds? What birds? Are there any birds around here? Do you see them Viraaj?”
“Karan...”
“Okay, okay, Karan will  stop, only for the sake of his best friend, Viraaj!”
“Thank you.” Viraaj breathed a sigh a relief.
“WHAT!?” Luna's face was still red, but now it was red with anger.
“What?” Karan asked.
“What is he? Your best friend? What am I then?”
“You.... You are ...”
"Are you serious? You replaced me with this boy? Really?”
“Well, you replaced a lot of potential people with him, Karan didn't even do that! Karan didn't even say he displaced you!”
“Replaced..... potential people?” Confused Viraaj striked again!!!

Sorry for the delay, to make up for not posting in a while, I'll be posting more chapters than usual today!

I'll try to post more by the next week, but I have my finals going on so I can't be so sure about it.
