Hello, ready for a sweet one-shot, by Eve (2901_a)?

Though it is a bit too long. I hope that you don't get bored when you are just through a quarter of the one-shot.

Nevertheless, Let's give it a hit!

Cupcake | May x Drew

The bell chimed softly; indicating that a new customer has arrived. It was Cupcake week in the world LaRousse City, Hoenn Region; couples hand in hand; children running around, and the sweet smell of freshly baked cupcakes filled the atmosphere.

Solidad immediately rushed inside the kitchen as she yelled, "Part-timer, go greet the customer!"

"Yes." The reply came almost immediately as the part-timer, a girl with rosette short hair; ran towards the front counter as soon as the customer reached there.

"Hello", she greeted them with a sweet smile, "How may I help you today?"

She slowly looked at the couple, observing them from top to bottom before returning a sweet smile as she watched them bicker on what and who should say. It took the couple a few more minutes before they settled on red-velvet; vanilla topped, triple cupcake with a caramel macchiato for the girl.

"It will be up in no time. May I have your name so that I can inform you about your order?", the part-timer asked and watched the girl hit her mate on the shoulder to get his attention before shrugging and giving her name.

"Call Mr. Grasshead, please."

The part-timer giggled at the received name, but still nodded and was about to go when the girl tugged at her uniform sleeve. She turned around to face the couple asking if there was anything else they needed, but instead,

"What is your name though? Also, please call the order upon Drew, not Mr. Grasshead", the girl asked. "It's Brianna. Thank you for asking, and telling me", Brianna, the part-timer replied sweetly and immediately rushed inside as she heard Solidad calling her; while waving back to the couple.

The couple then went ahead and sat on a table near the window; facing each other. It was so quiet and the cafe was filled with soft snickers of the other couples; mixed with a hint of cupcakes and coffees.

"Say, Drew?", the girl asked as she diverted her gaze from the window to the boy in front of her. He lifted his head and replied, "Hm?"

"Have you ever wondered what will happen to our friendship, if the media keeps on treating and reminding us that we are rivals and–" She was stopped mid-sentence as Drew finished for her.

"Not friends, right?" She nodded; her eyes slowly lacking the glistening which it once had before the conversation turned gloomy.

Drew heaved a pack of air slowly as he enveloped the girl's tiny hands in his' as he spoke, "Listen, May. It doesn't matter to me what the media says and wants us to know. The only thing I care about, right now, is that you are with me. You are my friend, in spite of our rivalry in the Coordinating world. The media can cook up anything they want because they want some spice. Because they don't want to lose their best rivals due to another secret pact of friendship. It doesn't matter to me."

"But– what if–"

"I don't care. I would even lose to you and end our rivalry if it means that we can stay as friends forever. Whether you like it or not, I want to be stuck with you like this forever" Drew squeezed her hands softly as May kept her eyes on him, listening to him with all her attention. "If not more than friends" Drew muttered under his breath slowly; not wanting the girl he admired for the past few months to know his little secret.
