In the beginning...
I was born.
Which is only the first contradiction to what many of you, along with adherents of the major faiths of the past millennia, have been taught, then encouraged to embrace as long-held, cherished, and unchallengeable tenets. So, be forewarned. Much that I have to say may not be easy for you to hear, and, in fact, in consideration of so many deep-seated preconceptions, may leave you struggling to make sense of the story I am about to impart. Of course, many of you are so entrenched in your ideologies that you will insist that you know me better than I know myself. Many will refuse to accept that these words are my own.
But regardless of your vehement, often violent, disputes with those who hold beliefs other than your own - and, given the opportunity, rather than admit the possibility of being wrong, would scream in my face, with all your self-certain arrogance, "Liar!" Know this: Nothing you have been taught, chosen to believe, insist is true, or would scream in my face changes the truth or reality of me one iota.
I did not create the Universe. I exist within it. I am not what modern religions have defined as "God." I did, however, create the tiny piece of the Universe where you exist, what you call the universe, and believe to contain the totality of all existence. If you insist upon a title, "Creator" remains the most accurate. I find many of your stories of creation quaintly and symbolically representative But more on this later. "Father" is a name I long to hear, but it is not yet appropriate to address me as such.
The Universe is older, larger, and more complex than any but a few of you have yet imagined. There are many minuscule entities, such as the one you refer to as your universe, all tiny bits within one much larger Universe. Think of what you call the universe as merely a single twinkle lost among a galaxy of sparkling lights. So far as I've yet discovered, there is only one Universe. Still, even that which I have come to consider the one and only, and the totality of all that exists, may, in truth, be only one of many within a still greater UNIVERSE, merely a Single Twinkle lost among a much greater Galaxy of Sparkling Lights. And, yes, I'm aware of "turtles all the way down." But let's not get ahead of ourselves.
I was born in a universe much like yours, longer ago than you can imagine. I grew up and once lived a life near enough to your own. I did not invent sex, much as I would love the credit. It predates me, and although I once struggled with aspects of this as much as many of you, I must say, it has been and remains one of my favorite things.
I did not invent sin, and, although the concept also predates me and is another thing with which I too once struggled, I've come to conclude it to be a creation entirely of our own making. So, there is no need to ask for forgiveness, except from those who your actions have harmed. And perhaps your own. But certainly not mine. I hear your brains boiling over. All in good time.
