Boris walked down the school hallway, one hand in his sweatshirt pocket playing with the new packet of cigarettes, desperate for one but knowing they weren'tallowed in school. The other hand laced with Kotku's who was gossiping about Claire Humphrey, a rather pretty looking girl Boris knew Kotku was jealous of, to him but he wasn't listening. He looked at the cement ground, the steel lockers with a bunch of graffiti from students written on, to the other students not even engaging his presence.

That was the thing with high schoolers, they don't care. They don't care about themselves or others, they only care if its drama or worth their attention. And Boris was never in drama or did relevently anything worth their attention. He started to think, no one really did care for him, the only people that did was his mom and Theo and they both left. They left him. By himself, no one loved him. Hell his dad literally wish he wasn't alive and Kotku. Kotku, she used Boris, and he couldn't admit it to himself. No one cared, hell he could off himself tonight and not a single person would notice.

"Boris!" The blonde his fingers were intertwined with yelled, causing Boris' attention to turn towards her. "Did you hear anything I just said?!"

"No, sorry" He mumbled his accent thick. Kotku turned away, letting go of his hand and walking away only turning around to tell him "When you wanna be a good boyfriend and listen give me a call."

'Jesus Boris, you idiot Kotku the only person you have left' He thought, heading to class.

Fern stepped on the corner sidewalk, daydreaming. She thought about how much she missed her mom. Her other half, they would always laugh and had so many inside jokes, her personal favorite being strawberry pudding.

Six- year old Fern held close to her moms hand, smiling bright. They were heading to Garret's, an ice cream shop across the street. They walked in and Fern felt the cold air hit her face. "What do you want sweetie?" Her mom asked her bright brown eyes meeting the young girls blue ones. She talked so patiently and kind, like a Disney Princess. Fern thought about it for a little bit. "I want strawberry pudding please." And since that day it had become an inside joke everytime they went to ice cream.

Fern smiled to herself remembering that day, but was quickly replaced with a frown. Her dad and her didn't have any memories. When he found out her mom was pregnant he left without a trace. Her mom sent her here to get to know her father better. But the only thing she knew better about her dad was the feeling of his hand, brushing against her skin. Fern felt hot tears sting her eyes and graze her cheeks. She took a deep breath, the cold air filling her lungs, like in the ice cream shop. She wiped her tears, causing some of the concealer to come off.

"Shit." She cursed remembering she forgot the face cream at home. Her purple eye showing, swollen like a plum. She continued her journey keeping her head down. She made it to first period slouching in her seat, taking a pill in her mouth. Smiling, even if smiling was exhausting.

A/N
I love Boris and Fern, their both just misunderstood. Kotku is kind of dramatic. Comment below Team Born or Team Borku
