He stormed out of the surveillance room and down the hall. Bruce planned to make it to the foyer before Selena did. He was on a mission. One way or the other he was going to find Selena and set her straight once and for all.
There was no way he was going to allow her to let that riddle spewing nut job feel her up. Bruce tried to shake the image of them making out but the harder he tried the more vivid it became. He refused to stand for her nonsense, not after she had just tried to convince him to be with her. Bruce Wayne did not share his women.
Selena was just entering the foyer while she carded her fingers through her hair, trying to fix the mess Edward had made when he took control of their kiss. God Lord, she had never seen him so forceful before. It was so out of character for Edward that she hadn't been able to help her response to him.
He was normally such a placid lover. Of course he could get demanding like most men, but he was more apt to let her have all the control. Selena purred to herself as she remembered the last time them had romped. The memory of him chained to her bed had her all out of sorts.
Her daze was ruined when Bruce came storming out of the shadows and grabbed her arm, pulling her to a stop.
"What was that?" His eyes flashed dangerously.
Oh, this was not Bruce Wayne before her, this was all Batman. Demanding answers and not caring if he had to rough you up to get them. Also exerting more force than necessary. How Selena wished she had one of her whips on hand, just to show him he wasn't at the top of the food chain.
Though with the mood he seemed to be in Selena thought it would be best to play it cool. Try to divert his attention. Keep him away from the real reason she was at Arkham today.
"I haven't any clue what you're talking about, darling." She tugged her arm out of his grip. "You should be more specific."
Bruce leaned in close, his lips skimming her ear as he spoke. "You with your claws in the Riddler."
Selena pulled back her mouth forming a small "o" of surprise. So seeing her with Edward pushed his buttons. It served him right. It was now his turn to feel the sting of rejection.
She had spent enough time seeing him with everything in a skirt. He had made her the laughing stock of the criminal underbelly of Gotham. Even Ivy had to pull her aside and let her know how pathetic she looked chasing after Bruce.
Purring she racked her nails down his chest. "Seems someone is jealous. And you should be. Edward is quite experienced at keeping me pleased."
Here she ran her tongue over her kiss swollen lips. Bruce had the urge to drag her back to his mansion and show her just what he could do with his tongue and everything else he was packing.
"Selena give up this life. Come to me and you'll never want for anything." His voice was a seductive whisper.
Bruce knew he could never force someone like Selena. She wasn't a pushover like Alice or Harleen. She was a strong independent woman who had cared for her own needs her whole life.
He knew that if he wanted to get anywhere with her he was going to have to go for a softer approach. To coax her into giving up who she was, of conforming to what he wanted her to be.
"Why? Because you say so."
He brushed his knuckles down her cheek and tilted her chin so they were looking into each other's eyes. "Because if you don't I'll make sure there is a bed here for you."
Selena narrowed her eyes. He's threatening her. Well, maybe not Bruce. Batman is threatening her. She let a soft laugh slip past her lips.
Rising her hand she pats his cheek a little harder than necessary. "I'd like to see you follow through on that. But you're too busy chasing your next piece of ass. Maybe when you finally catch her, you won't be so hard up."
