Danny will have Aplastic Anemia in this story.
Aplastic refers to the inability of the stem cells to generate mature blood cells.
This is a rare disease in which the bone marrow and the hematropoietic stem cells that reside there are damaged, this causes a deficiency in all three blood cell types.
It can be caused by heredity, immune disease, or radiation. In this case Danny will get it from when he was electrocuted by the ghost zone portal, the radiation and ectoplasm entered his body and caused him to get aplastic anemia.
Normal done marrow has 30-70% blood stem cells, but in aplastic anaemia, these cells are mostly gone and replaced by fat.
First line treatment for apastic anaemia consists of unimpressive drugs (drugs that inhabit or prevent activity of the immune system), typically either anti-lymphocyte globulin (infusion of animal-antibodies against humanity T cells which is used in the treatment of acute rejection in organ transplantation) or anti-thymocyte globulin (infusion of horse or rabbit-derived antibodies against human T cells, which is used in the prevention transplantation and therapy of aplastic anemia) combined with corticosteroids (transplantation of multipotent hematopoietic stem cells) also used, especially for patients under 30 years of age with a related matched marrow donor.
Signs/Symptoms
-Low platelet counts, if present it's associated with an increased risk of hemorrhage, bruising, and petechiae.
-Low white blood cells counts, if present leads to an increased risk of infections which can be severe.
-Fatigue
-Shortness of breath with exertion
-Pale skin
-Frequent or prolonged infections
-Unexplained or easy bruising
-Prolonged bleeding from cuts
- Skin rash
-Dizziness
-Headache
*If left unreated, severe aplastic anemia has a high risk of death.
Author- I know that this is explained exactly as the previous author, and that just shows how great a writer they are. I intend to go over their chapters and add my own spice.
