Chapter 10 - Avoiding HIM

Tyler’s POV

The kiss broke and I stared at Troye for about two seconds before dashing out of the dorm. I ran out from the dorm building and towards the woods. I ran and ran and ran. After a few minutes my throat was burning and my muscles acing so I slowed down. I found myself on a field. Thankfully not the field I had been to with... him. As I sat down on a big rock I began to play over the kiss in my head.

Why did it have to be so perfect?

Why did that kiss have sparks flying?

Did I really like Troye on that way?

I sighed, trying to collect my thoughts. I stood up. Only now realizing how thin the sweater I worn had been. And that it was basically night time. I looked up to the sky to be met with a sky full of stars and I quietly began singing to myself.

I think I saw you, oohhh

I quickly stopped singing when I heard crunching leaves. I turned in the direction I think it came from and was met with trees. I sighed and sat down on the rock again. Soon I heard the crunching of leaves again, but this time I didn’t bother to even look up. I wish I had though.

Troye’s POV

When the soft kiss had ended my eyes fluttered open to meet Tylers. After about two seconds of staring Tyler dashed out of the room, slamming the door shut.

What did I do wrong?

Didn’t he feel the same sparks that I did?

I stood up to walk out of his room but as my legs felt wobbly I sat down again, that’s when to door opened. In came two pairs of footsteps, but I didn’t look up to see who they were. “Troye?”  Zoe asked cautiously and I sighed, scooting back on the bed curling into myself, not wanting anything to do with humans. I heard more steps over the floor and soon someone sat down on the bed. Zoe I’d guess. “Troye, talk to us” Connor said. I looked up, meeting his gaze.  “What do you want?” I asked annoyed. “Why did Tyler run out, slamming his door?” Zoe asked and I sighed once again. “Maybe you should ask him why he ran away” I said. Unfortunately my voice cracked at the end and I looked down on my hands, not wanting to cry in front of people again. “Where did he go then?” Connor asked dumbly. “You think I’d know?” I questioned him. “He’s probably in the woods” Zoe said, standing up. “I’ll go find him” she continued and soon she was closing the door behind her, not slamming it as Tyler had.

But when I heard the click of the door, that’s when I broke down. At first, it was just silent tears streaming down my face. Connor had for that moment turned his head away, sitting down on the bed. But as soon as he had scooted back on the bed, he looked over at me. “Troye?” Connor asked his voice full of confusion. “Yeah?” I said trough my tears, my voice coming out as broken. “What happened?” he asked. “I kissed him” I whispered, but apparently not loud enough. “What did you say?” I swallowed thickly before answering him “I fucking kissed him” “Oh” was the only answer I received.  I got up and walked out of my dorm room.
