Ice Age the Meltdown

Ch. 5

                                                            Hope POV

as me and Manny were talking out of a tree another Mammoth falls to the ground, Manny looks at her, 

"I knew it! I knew I wasn't the only one!" Manny said 

"Me too, some of us fall out of the tree now and then, they just don't admit it," She said 

Me and Manny look at each other, 

"And you were in the tree because...." Manny said confused 

"Oh I'm looking for my brothers they are always getting into trouble," She said 

"Wait there's more! where?" Manny said 

"Everywhere.... in trees and holes in the ground, sometimes we only come out at night so birds don't carry us off," She said 

Okay I'm confused I thought,

"Help! Help!" We see to opossums run behind the Mammoth,

"Well shave me down and call me a mole rat, you found another mammoth!" Sid said 

her eyes got wide,

"Where! wait a minute I thought mammoths were extinct?" She said 

we all stared at her, 

"What are you looking at me for?" She said 

"I don't know maybe because you're a mammoth," Manny said 

"Me? don't be ridiculous I'm a opossum!" She said 

"Right good one I'm a newt this is my friend the badger..." Manny said pointing at Diego 

"and my other friend the platypus," Manny said pointing at Sid

"and my sister the chipmunk," Manny said 

"Hey why do I gotta be the platypus? make him the platypus," Sid said 

the opossums lept onto her tusks 

"This guy giving you trouble sis?" One of them said 

"Sis!?" We all said shocked 

"That's right these are my brothers Opossum, Opossum, Opossum," She said pointing at herself last

"I don't think her tree goes all the way to the top branch," Manny muttered 

"Manny brink of extinction is a bad time to be picky," Sid said 

he then elbowed Manny in the ribs,

"She should come with us!" Sid whisper yelled 

"Are you insane! no way!" Manny whisper yelled back 

"Okay," Sid said walking over to her 

"Manny wants me to ask you if you'd like to escape the flood with us?" Sid said 

I covered my mouth with my paws trying not to laugh, Manny nearly choked the opossums jumped off her tusk,

"I'd rather be roadkill!" One of them say 

"That can be arranged," Diego threatened as he growled 

"Funny!, just... let me have a word with my brothers!" She said 

Manny smacked Sid upside the back of the head with his trunk,

"Why did you invite them!?" Manny said 

"because you two might be the only two mammoths left on earth!" Sid said 

"He has a point," Diego said 

"I'm sorry when did I join this dating service," Manny said 

"Me and my brothers would be delighted to join you..." She said 

Manny groaned 

"If you treat us nicely!" He said 

Diego snarled  

"See... that that's the total opposite of nice!" he said 

"Maybe we'll have ourselves a little snack before we hit the road," Diego said 

This is gonna be a long trip I thought
