Ice Age the Meltdown

Ch. 11

                                                                     Hope POV

I stood next to Diego, 

Manny stepped out, 

"Okay! Come on!" Manny said 

a geyser exploded right in front of him, 

"Manny! get back! it's a mine field out there!" Diego said 

"This is the only way! we have to go straight through!" Manny said 

"Straight through? We'd like to keep the fur on our bodies thank you!" Ellie said 

"We'll head back and go around that's safer," Ellie said 

"No, no there's no time the dam will burst before we make it! we'll drown!" Manny said 

"We go through this we get blown to bits," Ellie said 

"We go forward!" Manny said 

"We go back!" Ellie said 

"Forward!" 

"Back!" 

"Forward!" 

"Back!" 

Me, Crash and Eddie twist our heads watching them argue, 

"Can I say something?" Diego asked 

"No!" Both Mammoths yelled 

"You are so stubborn and hard headed!" Manny said 

"Well then I guess that proves it! I am a mammoth!" Ellie turned and went back picking Eddie and Crash up with her trunk, 

"Fine!" Manny said picking me up with his trunk, setting me on top of his head, 

"I dunno drowning seemed like a much gentler way to go, blown to bits seems so...sudden" Sid said 

Next thing I know is Manny is knocked down by a Geyser and I fall off of him rolling on the ground a few times, 

My vision blurry, 

"Hope you need to get up!" Sid yelled as Diego is yelling at Manny, 

I went to stand up Sid helped me up, 

"We gotta go!" Diego said 

Manny went to run the other way but Diego pushed him the other way, 

"That way!" Diego said 

we all started running avoiding the hot steam, 

we make it to the traffic where all the mammals are getting on the boat, we were trying to find Ellie, Crash and Eddie, 

"I don't see her anywhere!" Manny said 

"Maybe she's already on board!" Diego said 

I scampered on Manny's head onto his trunk, 

"Raise your Trunk," I said 

He did as he was told I was on my hind legs my front paws in front of me, my nose wiggling, 

"Do you see her!" Manny asked 

"No" I said 

then a rock tumbled to the ground causing everyone to scream and run, 

"Come on this way lets move!" Manny yelled directing traffic 

I'm now on Manny's tusk, 

then I see Crash and Eddie on his other tusk, 

"Manny! Hope! it's Ellie she's trapped in a cave!" Eddie cried 

Manny turned around moving against the crowd and back to the path he ran following the brothers to Ellie, 

then the ground gave way Me Manny, Eddie, and Crash went flying in the water, 

the two brothers clung to me as I held onto a stick the current was too strong for me to swim in, 

"I'll save you!" Sid said only to dive right into ice making him fall unconscious

"Great whose gonna save him?" Crash said 

Eddie held onto me as crash grabbed him, 

Diego jumped in the water finally helping us get to shore, 

I shook out my fur, 

"There he is!" Sid said 

I see Manny get pulled under water

"Manny!" I went to jump in but Diego stopped me 

"Don't the current is too strong for you," He said 

We watched the water, hoping they would come above water soon, 

suddenly two trunks popped up from beneath the water gasping for air, 

"There they are!" Sid yelled 

Manny helped Ellie to shore, 

Sid pulled on Ellie's tusk and Manny wrapped his trunk around Diego and I pulled on Manny's tusk, 

I leaped on Manny hugging him in relief, 

Eddie and Crash did the same to Ellie, 

"We thought we'd never see you again," Eddie said 

Ellie sighed happily and looked at Manny,
