A Riddle [Draco Malfoy X Reader]

Chapter Four

I stepped off the train alongside Malfoy and the goons. A bunch of other students have already exited while others were still exiting the train. "Firs' years this way!" I heard a loud booming voice say.

I turned around to see a huge man with a big puffy beard and thick bushy hair. I caught a glimpse of raven hair and ginger hair and recognised who it was. I immediately hid behind Draco , using his height as an advantage. He put a hand behind him and placed it on my waist , still facing forward as if he thought the huge man was scaring me.

I rolled my eyes and smiled slightly at the thought of him trying to protect me , seriously I bet he couldn't even hurt a fly! (Don't quote me on that) All the first years , including me , Draco and the goons followed the big man untill we got to the edge of the Black lake.

We got into the boats , I sat with Draco , Crabbe , Goyle and a pug-faced girl. Dear merlin , her high pitched sqeeling is literally making me go insane. The boats started moving and I watched in amazement.

I looked out the right side of the boat and say the giant squid swim past. I put hand gently hovering over the water. The feeling of the water hitting my fingers relaxed me. The still water being disturbed by the boats and my fingers going threw it. My mouth curved into a smile as I watched the Hogwarts castle suddenly come into view.

"Careful Riddle , you might fall" I heard Draco's voice say. I snapped my head toward him and smirked "Awww is little Malfoy worried about me? How about you catch me when I fall huh hun?" I teased him. I saw the faint blush on his cheeks and tip of his ears. "Whatever Riddle..." I heard him mutter. I giggled at my little victory.

A few minutes later , we entered the castle and stopped outside a large door. The big man left and we were met with a strict looking lady with her grey hair tightly put into a bun and hid under her wizard hat.

"Welcome to Hogwarts-" She started. I wasn't really listening untill a toad jumped up by her feet and a round faced boy shouting the name 'Trevor' before apologizing and going back to where he was standing. She continued , going on about being sorted into the Hogwarts houses and sitting on the stool when your name is called.

She left for awhile. I looked around a bit , my eyes landing on Harry , he looked back at me and I turned away quickly. Draco got up and so did his goons and walked over to Harry. Oh shit. I smell drama. "So it's true what the say on the train then? Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts" He said. A lot of people gasped and started whispering to each other.

Draco walked closer to Harry "Im Malfoy , Draco Malfoy" Ron snorted at Draco's name and that caught Malfoy's attention. "You think my name's funny do you? No need to ask yours. Red hair , and hand-me-down robes? You must be a Weasley" Draco scoffed and turned back to Harry "Dont want to go making friends with the wrong sort , I can help you there" He smirked pulling his hand outward to let Harry shake it.

Harry looked at Draco's hand then glared at him. "I tbink I can tell the wrong sort for myself , thanks" He sassed. I snorted earning a few stares and a cold glare from Malfoy. "Sorry..." I mumbled , trying to hold my laughter. Professor McGonagall came back and tapped Draco on the shoulder lightly , signalling for him to het out the way.

Draco walked back over to me and with a harsh look on his face. I patted his back and carefully hid a smile. "We are ready for you" Professor McGonagall said. The big door opened widely and she led us down the great hall. The ceiling was bewitched to look like the night sky above us and there were floating candles hovering above us.

We stopped in front of a stool with a dirty old hat on it. Professor McGonagall pulled out some paper and started calling out names. I wasn't paying attention untill I heard "Draco Malfoy" I obviously knew he was going to be in Slytherin , but hey , why not watch him getting sorted. Malfoy swaggered up to the stool and sat down. Before the hat even touches his head , the hat yells out "SLYTHERIN!"

The whole Slytherin house cheered for their new member. "Y/n Riddle" instant whispers were heard throughout the great hall. I walked up slowly to the stool and even before I sat down the hat yelled "SLYTHERIN!" and i took my place at the Slytherin table. "That's why she ran away after you told her who you are! Because she's You-know-who's daughter! I can't believe we survived sharing the same compartment as her! If I knew I thought I'd be dead right now!" I heard Ron's voice tell Harry. I look down sadly and placed the back of my hand on my chin.

"Harry Potter" Once again , instant whispers are heard but instead of whispers of fear , its whispers of excitement. Harry sat down on the stool. It took a while but the hat eventually screamed out "GRYFFINDOR!" the whole Gryffindor house cheered and screamed at the new member of their house.

Eventually the sorting ended and Dumbledore gave his speech. You all know it anyway so I'm not gonna add it here. (Don't break the fourth wall author~chan! TOO BAD.) Dumbledore ended his speech and suddenly food magically appeared in front of us. I immediately dove in for f/f while Draco grabbed an apple. I rolled my eyes , smiling. Him and his bloody apples.
