THIRD POV.

the brown haired girl jumped in her seat immediately when multiple loud bangs were heard right beside her. she turned her blurry gaze just to see the driver standing outside of the truck’s door with a stern face glued onto his wrinkled face.

digging into the pocket of her jeans, she brought her wrist watch closer and noticed it was six which instantly made her raised her brows.

impatient, the old man opened the car door and grunted.

“ well? what are you waiting for? an invitation? ” the old man said with his hands on his hips. the sour look on his face made aera mentally rolled her eyes as she realized something felt off.

“san? where's san?” in panic, she looked around the backseat and the seat right beside her where san first sat, but the black haired boy wasn't there. not even a trace which made aera panicked even more.

getting terrified at each second passed by. afraid that this old wrinkled man kidnapped her and probably tossed san out on their way to san’s grandma's house while she was in deep slumber.

the look on her face made the driver snort, “ yah your boyfriend took off like three minutes ago, he tried waking you up but you kept on slapping him. so that boy told me to wake you up by myself.”

aera felt her cheeks heated up, “he's not my boyfriend! we're just bestfriends.” she waved both of her pale hands indicating it as a ‘no’ and that he got the wrong idea.

there was a short silence until his lips turned itself to an ‘O’ shaped while nodding. “ man, kids these days having too much fun wilding.. makes me reminisce the times where this fella was still young.” he mumbled but loud enough that the girl inside of the car could hear it well.

“ i-its not like tha- ”aera stuttered.

“ahhh just hurry up and get out! geez... your boy or whatever he is, is probably waiting for you and i seriously need to go back home to the city. i dont wanna mess around with the old townies”

her mind sent mixed signals and questions after the man stated that he didn't 'want to mess around with the old townies'. what could go wrong and what happened? were the two main questions that kept on lingering in her mind. aera never went far outside of the main city as her father even said, ‘it was too pointless’ since they've got everything they need in the main area.

so having this first time not to mention staying for three months made her feel uneasy. but even though she felt uneasy, she trusted san enough since he used to live around the area until he was six before moving to the city where he first met her.

as much as she wanted to ask, she kept the questions to herself. stepping out, with her feet on the ground, her back ached for a bit making her winced in pain due to the hours of sleeping uncomfortably. and with that the sound of the car’s break boomed as it drove off with speed.

“wait— my luggage!” she shouted at the driver hoping he would take a stop yet sadly, he didn't, making his way to the main road where there weren't many cars passing by surprisingly.

“hey sleepyhead, i brought out the luggage already!”

there far behind her was the black haired boy that she panicked about a while ago, thinking that she got abducted. he was holding onto his dark grey jacket that was rolled, supported by with his right arm. he had a smile almost coming off to a laugh after seeing aera’s worried expression.

the scenary behind san made everything ethereal to her. the alignment , rows of identical houses along with the dark sky felt like she was in some kind of western movie. even though the houses were identical in shape and size, every each one of them gave off different auras and vibes.

everything has it's own character. admiring the view while lost in her thoughts, the lights in front of the lawn glimmered onto the grass. everything just felt so unreal.

“yah lee aera! are you listening?” san shouted from the distance. aera slapped herself, bringing her steps towards the male but her eyes remained glued elsewhere.“its pretty right?” he said while smiling brightly bringing his arms towards the sky spinning around.

aera nodded, “ i never knew something this simple would be this pretty ”

the male dropped his arms and hugged his jacket tightly. his eyes focused onto the female’s that was still looking around. “there's a lot more to this city girl, you're experiencing the start wait until you see the rest.” he winked and aera laughed it off.

“if its like that then, show me everything around here okay? i wanna get to know my bestfriend’s childhood more.” aera replied, the corners of her lips turned upwards to a cresent.

it was obvious that after she replied, san’s cheeks began to reddened but the look in his eyes were different. it was dull and sad. even his smile disappeared.

however, aera didn't took notice as she was too busy looking around still.

san cleared his throat, “we should go inside, my grandma is probably waiting for us. im sure she'll be excited to see us” he signaled his head over to the house behind him. a dark greyish almost to black roofed, two storey home. on the outside, everything was decorated with flowers and plants, even with greek styled statues.

aera nodded, “i cant wait to meet her!”

the male opened the white wooden gate and nodded back without saying anything. his facial expression didn't even changed once he turned his back from aera, pulling his luggage to the concrete pathway to the house.

while san was pulling his luggage, aera took one last view and something in the corner of her eyes made her turned her head.

next to san’s grandma's house, she realized she was being watched by someone. a boy in fact. she squinted her eyes to get a better look and it definitely was a boy. standing behind the window up on the second floor.

his pitch black hair was parted in the middle and was wearing a white t-shirt and sweatpants. he looked emotionless and being aera the way she is, she waved at the new neighbour.

as a response, his eyes widened making him looked surprised and flustered. with both of his hands he closed the curtains lastly not even giving aera a wave back.

“strange.”
