Bruised

Chapter 7

Jaeden P.O.V
Please doctor have good news....please let Molly be alright.

"The good news is that the surgery went well, she will make a full recovery." *sigh* "But the bad news...." the doctor pauses for a minute and I start to get impatient.

"What's the bad news?"

"She has two broken ribs, one bruised rib, damage to her head, a fractured shoulder, and she is very severely bruised. We found older and brand new scars all across her body, including her torso, thighs, arms, and back. On her arms it was most likely self harm. But everywhere else was physical harm from another person."

"....holy shit."

"Yeah, I said the same thing. But I have one question."

"What's the question?"

"Do you know how long she has been abused for?"

"Honestly I have no clue, it has atleast been a few years with her boyfriend- er, ex I should say. But her foster parents, I have no idea how long it's been going on for, a few years, longer than her ex most likely."

"Ok thankyou. You may go see her now if you would like to. She won't be awake until morning. We put her on a longer lasting sedative to help her body rest."

"Ok. Which room is she in?"

"Room 305 down the left hallway." He says as I speed walk out of the room.

Molly's room

I rush into her room and go to the bed she is in. Even covered in bruises she is still beautiful. How could he do this to her? Almost everyone at school think that she is a freak.....but that's the thing, she is anything but a freak....She is the sweetest and nicest girl in school. It makes me so mad how everyone can be so quick to hate Molly before they even meet her. It shows you how cruel people really are, ever since Sophomore year, she was pushed around. As a freshman she was the it girl. Head cheerleader even as a freshman, all guys chased after her, girls envied her, wanted to be her, she may have been abused then but it didn't show. When she met James, her happiness disappeared. She became invisible, bruised.

I get out of my thoughts, hold Molly's hand, and talk to her. Yes, I know some people say when someone is sleeping they can't hear you. But I don't believe that.

"Hey Molly, I don't know if you can hear me but i wanted you to know that I'm sorry.....I'm sorry I wasn't there to protect you." *sigh* "I'll leave you alone and let you rest."

I kiss her forehead and go to a chair to get some sleep. I hope she is awake when I get up.

The next morning

Molly P.O.V
'Where am I? Ugh, why am I so sore?' The memories of yesterday started coming back. I don't know how I survived that.

I pick up my head as much as I can and look around the room. Jaeden is sitting in the chair across the room, sound asleep. God, he's so cute.

"Jaeden?"

He jumps up like he was expecting me to be awake and runs to my side.

"Holy shit Molly! I'm so sorry..."

He hugs me tightly, I flinch a little and he loosens his grip.

"What are you sorry for?"

"For not being there....Its all my fault"

"Don't say that! None of this was your fault." I say hugging him tighter.

"But, it was my fault. I wasn't there for you..."

"Stop, it wasn't your fault. If anything it's my fault."

"Why would it be your fault then?"

"Because I made James mad. He always tells me that it's my fault that he hits me. That I make him so mad that he loses control and hits me. He tells me that so much, so much that I believe it."

I can feel Jaeden tense when I say that.

"Well, I do know one thing about all of this"

"And what's that?"

He pauses for a minute, releases his grip and looks me in the eyes.

"I know that next time I see James....I'm going to give him a beating that he will never forget."
