Chapter 8 The Stray

Micheal POV

I woke up in cold sweat in my dorm and breathed heavily. I covered my face with my hands.

"W-What was that dream about?"

I checked the time and saw it was 6 in the morning. I sighed and got up and took a shower. During that time, I couldn't stop thinking about the nightmare I had.

Who was that demon who slaughtered everyone? Why do I feel as though I've met her? How does she know me?

These questions ran through my head until I finished my shower and got changed into my armor. And when I did, I was greeted by VEGA.

"Hello Micheal. It is currently 6:30 am. How may I be of assistance? Also, I've noticed a spike in your heart rate and adrenal glands. What seems to be the problem?"

"I had a nightmare VEGA. It was awful... All of my friends were killed and I couldn't stop it."

"I see. Well, maybe it is best to speak to someone about this.

"Hm"

We were walking through the streets of Vale where decorations for the Vytal Festival were abundant. Including a giant sign that said "WELCOME TO VALE".

"The Vytal Festival! Oh this is absolutely wonderful!" Weiss said enthusiastically

"I've never seen you smile so much Weiss. It's kinda weirding me out..." Ruby said in a concerned manner.

"How could you not smile? A festival dedicated to the cultures of the world! There will be parades, dances, and a tournament! The amount of planning that went into making this Even is simply breathtaking!" Weiss continued as she continued walking

Yang then crossed her arms with a sigh.

"You really know how to take a good thing and make it sound boring" she said

"I don't know. I agree with how Weiss put it. It does sound great that way. It really emphasizes the hard work put into it and the payoff in the end" I chirped in

"See Yang? Micheal gets it!" Weiss boasted

"Whatever. Still sounds boring to me" Yang said.

"Quiet you!" Weiss commanded

We kept walking until we made our way to a dock.

"Remind me again why we're spending our afternoon at the stupid docks?" Yang asked impatiently

"Ugh they smell like fish!" Ruby said as he plugged her nose

"Not all fish smell bad, look at every seafood restaurant ever. Decomposing fish is what you're smelling." I corrected

"Way to me a smartass Micheal" Yang deadpanned.

Ruby's eyes shot open and pointed at Yang, "Swear jar!" She shouted at her older sister

Yang groaned, "Why are we even here?"

"I heard that students visiting from Vacuo will be arriving my ship today. And as a representative of Beacon, I feel it is my solemn responsibility to welcome them to this fine kingdom." Weiss explained

"She wants to spy on them so they'll have an upper hand in the tournament" Blake chimed in.

"You can't prove that!" Weiss snapped.
