Alexander Smith^
—June 1st 1986—
Samira doodled in her notebook. Lunch time was her break time. She had a minute to self reflect. She thought about what she would make for desert. It was Aziza's birthday and she was going to go to the Jamaican bakery and get her patties and coco bread and pineapple juice. She learned how to make curry chicken Aziza style so that it would be authentic enough for her.
It was going to be a little bit of a drive to get everything she needed but her friend deserved it. She is always there for her.
"Knock knock." A deep voice called into the class room. Samira looked up and smiled. Alexander was a fifth grade teacher. He was gorgeous. At 27 he had bright blue eyes and platinum blonde hair. He had a boyish charming but very manly features.
All of the staff were jealous of her because he was so gorgeous and he had been trying to steal a date with Samira for ages. As handsome as he was she wasn't sure if she was really into him. She has turned him down constantly and she didn't really have an explanation for it.
"Hey Alex." She smiled. "My favorite girl how are you doing?" He leaned his tall frame against the door.
"Good the kids have lunch and then recess and I'm off duty." She sighed her relief.
Alex laughed lightly walking closer before sitting on her desk. "Sooo tomorrow night? What are you up to?"
Samira laughed. "Are you about to ask me out again Alex?"
Alex blushed. "Am I that predictable." Samira giggled picking up some papers and straightening her skirt making Alex's eyes darken lustfully for a moment.
"Yes you're very predictable but you know what I said. I'm not interested in seeing anyone right now. Besides there are so many beautiful teachers here that would be more than willing to take you up on an offer you're extremely handsome." She spoke honestly.
Alex sighed not willing to admit defeat. "Just one chance Sam. I promise I'll treat you better than the a**hole who broke your heart. You deserve a man that will put you first and cherish you." He stepped closer.
While a little corny...his words made sense. She was still a little guarded with her heart and her time. She didn't want to go through that again.
Sam sighed. It was time she moved on as hard as it would be maybe a date wouldn't hurt her.
But we still love Jovani!
Her subconscious cried. But it was too bad. Samira was just going to have to suck it up and experience the world. Jovani was no longer a part of that anymore. As much as she wanted him to be.
"One date Alex." She smiled. Alex jumped up in disbelief. "W-wait really?"
She giggled and nodded. "Just one." Alexi have her a hug and picked her up spinning her around.
"Thank you! You won't regret it." Alex smiled widely.
"Okay okay Alex I have to go."
She broke free of his grasp to go get the kiddos. Alex was still grinning like a fool. Samira has never been interested in a white guy before so it would be an interesting cultural experience for both of them.
She smiled greeting her class before finishing out the rest of the day. Once school was out and all her kids were picked up by the bus or their parents she took care what she needed to do which took hours. She drove all the way to Scott's to get Aziza's things before she head home.
