Tom and Lucas was sitting outside on the porch with Julie and Claire having cookies when Joanne stepped onto the porch with the famous green Irish drink that was popular on St. Patrick's Day. She placed the tray on the coffee table in front of them and they each took a glass to drink. "Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone."

"I didn't know you were Irish," Lucas commented as he took a sip of his drink.

"Slattery is an Irish surname."

"Where did it originate from?" Claire asked inquisitively.

"It originated from a place called Ballyslattery in Country Clare in Ireland."

"County Clare? So that's why you and mom called me Claire?"

"Yes and no," Tom replied.

"What does our last name mean?"

"It comes from the Irish last name O'Slatara or O'Slatreigh which means descendent of Slatra and it means robust, strong or bold."

"That's so cool," Julie replied beaming

"That's so cool," Julie replied beaming.

"I won't be surprised if Danny Slater is related to us dad," Claire noted. "I mean Slater and Slattery does sound very similar. Maybe it's just an alternate spelling of our last name."

"No, actually not. Slater is an English surname and not at all linked to our last name. I thought so too, but I looked it up."

"You surely did a lot of research dad," Claire replied before taking a sip of her drink. "And you Lucas?Where does MacNamara come from?"

"It's Scottish I think. I'm not sure."

Claire and Lucas were sitting on the swinging chair on the porch later that evening watching the sun set in the distance. "It was really fun hanging out with your family today. I'm beginning to think your dad actually likes me. I think we should do that more often. That's when I get the chance to come to Choteau more often, and not at sea every two months." Lucas said with a smile.

"What do you mean by when you get the chance?" Claire asked with a frown.

"They are transferring me to Norfolk, Virginia next month."

"What? You are barely even back home. I mean you just spent three months at sea and you're not even home for a few months now they want to transfer you to Norfolk?"

"It's a great offer. I even get housing."

"Did you say yes?"

"I couldn't say no."

Claire stood up from the chair and turned to face Lucas while he remained seated. "Lucas, please leave..."

He could see she was upset. "Claire... You can always go to Norfolk with me."
