Chapter 2

Flashback:

"If we ever have kids what do you want their names to be" I ask.

He smiles at me "Whatever you want"

"But what's your favorite name?" I ask.

He smiles "For a girl Sofia" he says.

"And for a boy?" I ask.

"I've actually never thought of that" he replies. "What's your favorite name?" he asks.

"Andrew... Like his daddy" I say with a smile.

I grab the pregnancy test with a shaky hand.

I knew i should have gotten the two minute test instead of the five minute test.

Flashback: He rubs my belly pretending there is a baby in there.

"I can't wait to have a baby with you. I want a girl so when I look at her it will be like looking at you" he says.

I smile caressing his cheek "I want a boy, that way he can be as handsome as his daddy"

"Imagine a little you" he says smiling rubbing my belly.

"With a whole lot of you" I smile.

"I love you my Kat" he says.

"I love you my Drew" I say.

I take the pregnancy test out and I read the instructions.

I pee on the stick and then I look at it as if it's going to give me the results right away.

Flashback: "Will you still love me when I'm fat and I can't walk straight?" I ask Andrew as we walk through the park holding hands.

"I'll love you until my last breath and even then I'll continue loving you when I'm not living anymore" he smiles.

I laugh "I meant when I'm pregnant"

He smiles "Of course, that's a silly question, you'll be carrying our baby. I will take care of you when that day comes"

I stare at the pregnancy test.

I look at it blankly.

I look at the sign and for some reason it's not clear to me.

It's clear but not clear.

It's two pink lines.

I'm pregnant.

I'm pregnant...

I'm going to have his baby...

I'm pregnant..

My heart warms as I can feel my lips break into a smile.

I'm having his baby.

He's going to be a dad...

I hold my stomach as tears run down my cheeks.

"Your daddy is no longer here but I will protect you. You are a piece of him and a piece of me. I will protect you my little angel" I say.
