As she was dragged through the current (y/n)'s eyes were glued shut. Somehow, they were going at a crazy high speed through the water making the pressure of it gliding across her face feel sharp as a thousand thumb tacks. Curious as she is the princess had to know what was making them move so quickly. So carefully she opened her eyes slightly and tried to look around. Everything was so dark she could hardly see her own hand that was basically being dragged behind the rest of her body. Even so she turned to look up at Uma, the blur of blues and browns was her face and upper body, but it was staying relatively still. Somehow her captain was swimming without using her arms.
Still without an answer (y/n) looked towards their legs. The brown from her boots was blurring into the red of her dress, but there was something else. A large amount of light blue that almost glowed against the current rested besides her legs. The blur looked as if it was pumping in a similar fashion to how a squid would swim but she couldn't make out an animal's head. Confused (y/n) followed the blur up until in connected with the last thing she expected, the brown and blue of Uma's torso.
The princess's eyes shot open and she gasped causing her mouth to fill with water. Uma seemed to notice since she swiftly changed their direct and shot them upwards. Once above water the captain kept the shocked girl afloat as she coughed profusely. Wide eyed she turned to her captain who just smirked at her.
"Surprised?" she asked almost sarcastically "Did you really think I could get nothing from my mother?"
Not wanting to reply to the question (y/n) responded with a different one "Uma what are we doing her, even if we get to Auradon we'll just get sent back."
"Now, now, don't jump to conclusions, I came with a plan, but I need you to take me to the ship that the cotillion is on."
Too scared to refuse the princess pointed to a large ship that was docked on the shores near the castle. Uma nodded then told her to hold her breath before plunging back into the ocean and swimming once again at high speeds towards the ship. It only took about a minute to reach the ship. Once there the girls resurfaced. Looking up they saw an open window that they could climb into. Uma hoisted (y/n) first then the princess used a quick spell to command the waters to lift Uma to the window as well. Once in they examined their surroundings until they figured out that they were in the side hall of the middle deck. The pair ran to a storage room as fast as they could. Once in they both sat on the ground and caught their breath.
"Now what? We can't just stay here forever." (y/n) stated in an irritated tone.
Uma then reached into her jacket and pulled out the last thing (y/n) expected her to have. Mal's spell book. "We are gonna cast a spell, your magic only works through music, right?" the captain asked as she flipped through the pages.
"My strongest magic yeah?" the princess replied as she rung out her many feet of hair "Why?"
"Perfect, a love spell that works with music as its base. It says here sing focused on the emotion of love, once done state the name of the victim. Note: the spell regains strength the more the victim looks at the caster."
"Why a love spell?" (y/n) asked as she crawled over to look at the page.
Uma looked at her for once with no hint of sarcasm in her face or tone "Because, that king of yours is amazing, so not only would I break Mal's heart, I'll get him." The princess didn't know how to reply, and Uma could tell "Well princess start us off, sing about how you feel about Carlos or whatever."
"How'd you know!"
"Harry." Uma answered flatly "That boy guards you like a watch dog normally, once Carlos was there it got worse."
